Satoshi is multiple people. This is the accepted explanation for years. Bitcoin is the cumulatie in the state of the art in cryptography, block databases, etc back in 2008. It is impossible for one person to be that well versed in all topics AND produce a working proof of concept.

Forensic linguists confirmed that the writings are from several hands. Interesting to note that the writings and papers sometimes use British English idioms.
