How likely is it that ETH will flip Bitcoin for #1 in market cap?

BTC has been stagnating and slowly deflating for about a month now and people are starting to wake up and realize it's a tremendous piece of shit. ETH is looking far more promising now with a huge dev team and more use cases than just a store of value. We are now hovering around at the point of 10 ETH = 1 BTC and still gaining.

When does it flip, if ever, and what would the implications of this be?

unlikely. It hasn't even reached the levels btc is used, and already shows the same issues than bitcoin. On top of it 6 Million Token run on it, crypto kitties included. But it will certainly pump

Tbh it’s more likely that link lunge forth to steal the crown just before ETH overtakes it.

100%

Bitcoin is dead in the water. Ethereum actually has technical leadership

>>6419943
haha what is proof of stake, what is sharding, what is plasma -- it's obvious when people don't know anything about Ethereum beyond what they were told on /r/bitcoin

tip: bitcoin's issue isn't just transaction speed. it's big issue is that the algorithm was broken by Chinese hardware developers who patented a slightly more efficient way of mining Bitcoin, and they now control the network and won't allow Bitcoin to be upgraded or fixed. Bitcoin is fucking dead m8

in the short term, eth will displace btc. in the long ter, bch will displace eth.

Its EXTREMELY likely. You should probably expect it by Q2. That said, you shouldn't expect Eth to climb to some massive share of the total market. We're moving to a crypto marketplace where mainy tokens are sharing a small portion of the total pie. Eth will have a high market cap relative to others, but it won't be a staggering majority.

ETH has 1.000.000+ transactions per day vs bitcoins 300k and 30k+ nodes vs bitcoin's 12k,

Actually being honest. We’re entering a new phase of competitive market; there will be no more king.

When Vitalik's talked minimums before, the lowest number he ever mentioned was 500 ETH. Casper on testnet has minimum 1500 ETH.

It might be possible to pool ETH for a share of a stake, but I wouldn't suggest it

If you weren't mining ETH beforehand, it's not like you're going to lose out by not having enough to stake

It will never ever happens.

extremely unlikely. eth mining rate is too high and the network barely works

do you guys ever leave the bitcoin information bubble

you do realize that Bitcoin underperformed Ethereum and the rest of the top 20 in 2017 and lost a massive amount of market and mindshare, right?

XD XD XD

I heard that when POS first gets implemented it will be a crazy high amount required, and as bugs and other issues get ironed out the minimum amount will get lower and lower.
