Quartz watches, probably 2-300USD and lower maintenance for the most part unless you need to replace the circuit. Change the battery every couple of years even if it's running fine because the seals in the battery could break down and leak acid even while running the watch.

On that note, generally, I'd wear a fancy watch mainly for two reasons: As part of business attire or on special occasions.
