If your losing half your portfolio and its staying that low it means those shitcoins your in are falling past previous support levels. I'm a poorfag myself, so I followed this method and found BURST. Bought in at ~500sats, and I watched it lower to about 350sats for a full week. It killed me, but I had confidence it would rise way past where I purchased it. It hit something like 750sats today.

I made a profit, however, I didn't check the volume when I bought in. If I had just done so, I wouldn't have been a pink wojack for an entire week and made way more in the end.

How does checking volume help? Any resources I can read about?

I started two weeks ago and I was able to 5x.

I do have a business degree and did learn how to read graphs in school (intermediate level), but never traded before. I just listened to shills from biz and reddit and did some hard research on the coins that I was interested in (real life value). I started as a day trader and I shouldn't of.

Best tip I can give you is pick one coin (low market cap) and stay with that for a month. I started with Fun when it was around .04$. Have some patience, which won't be hard when you believe in the coin, don't get sucked into fomo. Once the coin picks up steam and you 4-8x your initial investment, you can diversify and split that into 2-3 coins you really believe in, instead of just one.

With how the market is going, we probably only have another 4-6 month of making money (at this current rate).

I think all these methods have it's merits and work. But each one has different outcomes:

If you researched heavily and you really think you found a gem which will probably go up in mid-long term, then it's good to do this.
But you need to keep in mind that the returns of that coin will be different depending on the marketcap and utility it has, and keep in consideration the amount you're investing and the return you expect. So if you have $100 and you think bitcoin will be 5x at the end of year, you will only get 500, which is incredibly low. But if you have let's say $400,000, a 5x is $2M, which is very good and could be enough for you.

This could be useful, I have never done it, but there are very low marketcap coins which could give you 10x or even 1000x at it's highest, in less than 2 weeks. The volume of BTC in any given coin tells you how much activity that coin has overall in a 24hr period. A coin with 200BTC volume is probably not going to be making many big movements, but a coin with 2000BTC or even 18K BTC (like XRP was) will probably be making some more volatile movements. Maybe it will pump off of hype but that's about all it has going for it and if you're just looking for a hype driven pump I think FUN is a better bet as its got conferences upcoming, usually if you buy a month before a conference and sell a few days before it you can get a nice flip.

ETH is the dominant smart contract crypto. There are far more smartcontracts and tokens being made that make use out of it than any other smartcontract crypto and its adoption makes it unlikely to ever tank too much and it still as plenty of upside, particularly with scaling solutions in the pipeline. I do not remember how I started, It was 2 years ago, I pumped around ~1000 PLN into Poloniex, bought ETH and left it for 1,5 years.

4 months ago I somehow went to Poloniex and saw that I had some ETH, sold them and managed to have ~0.2 BTC.

I cashed out 0.1 BTC (2000 PLN).

I tried to "surf the waves", follow /biz/ signals or something similar, always ended up with fewer BTC.

I learned not to be "weak handed faggot" as /biz/ advises. It is actually smart in 99%.

I learned not to be emotional and sell because I was scared that it is going down and I am going to lose. I already lost, why selling?

I bought XLM some time ago around ~1300-1400 sats on Poloniex. As you can see it is now around ~4000 sats. To be clear, I have seen it at 6000 sats and at this point I had over 0.5 BTC. To be clear - I HAVE NEVER, EVER SEEN OR HAD THAT AMOUNT OF MONEY IN MY LIFE, NOR MY PARENTS.

I decided to wait for more, for 0.6-0.7 BTC. I fucked up as you can see. I have now maybe 0.3 BTC.

Lessons?

>Do not panic sell.
>Do not panic buy (FOMO).
>Start small and learn how you react.

I am now thinking if I should sell XLM and get my gains (tripled initial investment) or wait for 6000 sats again. But remember, I can end up with 0.1 BTC again. I was too greedy, I learned the lesson.

Really, I am struggling, can't decide.

PS. The most awesome feeling is when you wake up and see +50-100% because you HODL, the worst, -50% because you did not cut losses.

This. I bought a shitload of Verge 8 months ago. Even when it dropped all the way back to .33 sats i didn't sell. A month ago it rocketed to 31 cents and i sold at 28. Earned 60K with literally doing nothing.

My next one year holds are ENG, NAV and BURST.
