If you are going back to your old job theres a 100% chance that the managers had a discussion about you and that has more weight than anything you do.

Typically if you get fired from a job they wont take you back because youve proven yourself to be difficult

STAR is the fucking worst, I know the federal government uses that a lot, they were such boring interviews. The conversational/scenario based ones are the best. You get a question that's open ended, and your response reveals the depth of your knowledge. Google uses that a lot.
