I want you to see what's happening here. SOXX is at the neckline of the previous Head and Shoulders bearish pattern. Then we saw a Falling Wedge bullish pattern. Both were confirmed. Now we're at the bull flag bullish pattern, but it wasn't confirmed. If it fails this retest, it shouldn't be able to break past $223.

But it's CPI week so anything can happen. Bought puts OTM for this week but won't buy more without confirmation.

theres 2 approaches to stock picking
1. math
2. hopes and dreams
you can do a mix of both, inevitably everyone will have hopes and dreams even if they're trying to focus on fundamentals

it will take awhile to be familiar, you will just have to lurk more and learn by experience whether thats by losing or gaining money
if you already make good money at work, you can also just go couchpotato investing and DCA your paycheck into a market index ETF

Avoid any and all addictions. This includes, but is not limited to, nicotine, alcohol, drugs, sex, and gambling.
Study Stoicism and put it into practice. I suggest reading the discourses of Epictetus and Meditations by Marcus Aurelius.
Be a good friend to those you know, but do not allow people close to you to abuse your kindness. Study good moral practices and uphold them.

Let's make uninformed guesses, just for fun.
WD-40 may miss .03 due to the buy in Brazil. Might be worth watching it drop for a few weeks if so, no promises. Europe and Asia providing a strong market as brown in cars become norm and other things.
Fastenal misses by .01, my estimation, due to increased shipping costs.
Delta has a rebound quarter but misses estimates by .05 due to labor and fuel costs.
Carmax has a horrible quarter as it under performs on an already week sales period.
Citi exceeds by .02.
Wells Fargo nearly shits the bed as its equity division posts horrible numbers and its default rates in the west are climbing.
BlackRock has a bad quarter but lies about it so prices go up.
JP has an average quarter and prices go up.

This is not advice, just a fuck off to see what happens, call it my Sweet 16 bracket for the week.

First: If you are not already 5fig networth then make sure to save up until you are.

THEN

Focus on portfolio construction first - stocks vs bonds/cash, domestic vs foreign. Consider having at least a portion of your port in low-risk assets (index funds or gov/AAA bonds) so even if you make some bad plays you always have a base you are building up over time. Consider the minimum position size you care about - if you are buying $100 of a medium-risk/reward asset, at 20% gain is $20 which is prettymuch irrelevant. If on the other hand you are buying something that will 0x or 100x (options), maybe $100 is the most you'd want to gamble on something so risky. If you aim to make money by day trading (doubtful but some here will claim it's feasible...) make sure you have a plan for what to do when a trade goes against you.

Finally - no matter what anyone says... DON'T use leverage or any financial instrument that can go below $0 if you lose. Good luck, you'll need it in this clownmarket.

I don't trust money market funds but as long as you don't panic sell if it "breaks the buck" your probably fine. Well except it's not FDIC insured. To be fair treasuries can also lose money if the gov defaults... I don't think that would last more than a few days at most though.

Assuming those were bonds you held directly and not through a Schwab ETF or mutual fund, they would transfer them to a designated new brokerage per SIPC procedures. You wouldn't be able to sell during the handoff but other than that your port would be unaffected.

Oh wait, LIDL it was LIDL, the third, with annoying music. And then came Aldi, luckily only saw it 1-2 times and then not anymore with even WORSE electronic music and I say that as somebody who listens to Techno etc.

Looked for it, found this here instead. What the fuck is that? Patata, are they now specifically advertising towards turks, greeks, italians etc? What the fuck is going on. Btw, I'm an immigrant's child myself, but this is retarded. This is actually racist towards germans, as it seems to be implying Germany is "patata", the country of potatoes, cause people actually insult germans as "Kartoffel" which is potato.
