I get that this is probably the 'return to normal' - but why has ETH sprung back up so quick? is there a verifiable reason (e.g. - speed of blockchain additions)? or does it owe more to the whim of the market / being a bubble.

The bad news is that it was suppose to go up way further, but the bears won. So TA can't fucking help this situation, it's up to the market. Same with last night, it was suppose to dip but it didn't, it was pumped back up to 850. I fear that it will eventually dip back down, but this is just the third leg (supposed to be the strongest), so there's another leg left before a correction. I'd say it gets to 950 and then drop, that's being a good outlook. If you want to learn more, after the dips, check out the progression of the 4th leg (correction wave) if it increases, you can expect 1k, if not you can expect back to 850.

I mean it's very high. I almost never buy when it starts to hit a solid ATH with a round fat number or series of zeroes. I've seen too many big dips happen right before or after hitting that point. There's a pretty decent chance that in five days ETH will be lower in price than it is now, but it could also continue climbing steadily.

There's nearly zero chance that it'll just stop growing and pan out at the new threshold, it'll either steadily climb or sink. I might kill myself for not getting on the train right this second, but the likelihood of it dipping soon is a little bit too high for me to risk it.

It's going to hit $2K sooner than it took from $500 to $1K

My last investment when a currency was peaking sank the next day and hasn't risen to meet my buy in price yet. I refuse to sell at a loss, so I hope it'll turn around in the next few months and hopefully overtake the point I was at.

I'm more confident with investing in Ripple right now, it's exhibited a steady growth and it's nowhere near a significant headline-grabbing threshold. It's got ample room for growth and normies will flock to it once it hits more mainstream outlets.

My bi-weekly transaction on coinbase cleared today so I have a healthy chunk of fiat just sitting in waiting for me to convert it into something good. I'm either going to convert it into ETH and then XRP or wait for the ETH dip and buy in then (if ETH continues to climb perpetually and BTC dips I'll buy into that. As shitty as BTC is I'm very hard pressed to imagine that it's going to be dethroned even this year because BTC has all the headlines and mental marketspace.)

You ask anyone what bitcoin is and they know. You ask what's ether and only people who actively invest in cryptos will know. Bitcoin is the king only because it was the first, even if it's utter dog shit.

My date is giving me "fuck me" eyes so I can't eyeball it as closely as I want, maybe I'll regret it tomorrow or maybe it could work out in my favor. General advice is to buy into the dips, and ETH is absolutely not dipping right now.

Not fudding, just relatively new: doesn't Ethereum have increasing competition from Neo, ICX and other similar projects? It had somewhat of a first mover's advantage like Bitcoin, but as lot of people buy ETH to then exchange against alts or to participate in ICOs. If there are other platforms that are developed for this, even if the market as a whole increases, shouldn't we expect that Ethereum's market share will diminish in the coming year?

To add, I want to buy more, so if anyone can shill me on reasons to do so I'd be glad, I'm just uneasy buying at the current price point.
