Wow anon that's incredible, nearly 1bil in cash and no debt???? They must be deploying that cash to expand their market share in the physical media space!
>NFT market shutdown
>500 non profitable stores closed in 8 months
>Videogame consoles no longer being manufactured with disk drives
Well at least Ryan can now use the cash to invest in profitable equties to try and get a return on that cash, because it not being deployed is not bullish at all. Companies need a pathway for growth. The videogame pawnshop has 0 growth without new capeshit films licensing new funko pops.
>BUT BUT BUT BUT WE WILL BE A HOLDING COMPANY NOW WITH CAPTAIN DOG FOOD CONTROLLING THE PORTFOLIO
That's a hedgefund retard, you know the people you love to make the enemy. You're going to invest in a ticker that actively is closing hundreds of locations and wants to pivot to becoming a hedgefund that sells funko on the side? Go for it. Just search "debt death spiral" as you watch that cash dwindle on every single earnings release.

never do this - ever. like, ever. you never know when some freak of nature catastrophe occurs and fucks you in the ass and up your throat. vertical spreads mimic directional bias while capping risk/reward with less capital requirements vs the underlying. by reducing your capital requirements as much as you can, you can afford to capture more occurrences.

that's why i like verticals - i'm betting it won't go in a certain direction, thus creating directional bias. the underlying can move in the wrong direction but if it's not too much i can still profit.

i was betting that nvda either was double topping or still forming a bullish flag, either way, i didn't think it would continue to go up. on the flip side, aapl didn't look like it was gonna keep falling and will more than likely regain some ground. i have a target where i will flip back to long nvda and then i will also be able to short aapl at the same time by selling to open a vertical call spread

well you could start off by using a real broker instead of one made by DAMN commies

after that. make sure you have a $10k minimum emergency fund if not already (I am assuming by "I have 30k to invest" that you already have this and 30k is just your brokerage).

As to your actual portfolio construction. start with asset allocation. What % do you want to be in stocks vs bonds. what % in stable & low-risk items vs coomer coinflips. How much money are you comfortable losing in a 1-day trading session. how much time do you have per week to monitor your port and plan buys/sells. You need to answer these questions BEFORE placing any trades. THEN. get in the market and execute your plan. you should not have to think before pressing the button, you should know exactly what you are going to do, do it, then close your brokerage and log out (or stick around for the research features.. but DONT buy or sell without a plan/strategy you think about at least overnight). Over time, you will learn how the market reacts to certain events, be it global events or individual company earnings. my recommendation is you keep the "coomer coinflips" part of your port relatively small at least in the early phases. As you get more comfortable, you may chose to trade riskier assets... or not. it's up to you. good luck. but seriously drop that Red Ch*nese scam broker first.

OPEC has cut production and extended voluntary cuts through Q2. you could expect the price to rise slightly, and then when they restock inventory sometime late this year or early next, the price should fall again. but all it takes is another Houthi attack to make the the middle eastern nations nervous and they could say fuck it and start pumping any way which puts downward pressure on the price.

Put in 10% or the highest amount for your 401k employer matching. Roth 401k preferably. It's going to be some cookie cutter bullshit and you'll want to allocate everything to SP 500 index funds. Next max out your Roth IRA (7k per year). VOO/SPY or VTI. Next put additional money into your individual account. Use a real broker like Fidelity, Schwab (formerly TDA), etc. Not Webull or Robinhood. Open a margin account, and look into options approval if it's something you want to do down the road. Put everything into SPY/VOO or VTI like before. Lump sum the 30k, and then DCA with your paychecks every two weeks. Paper trade in your spare time. Get good.
