not much gains to be had now, problem is Im usually break even on trades, I mostly get too greedy, this market is too ruthless so you should take those 1.5x-2x, I hold for bigger potential but it almost never gets realized, because devs pull the rug beforehand at an early stage so just meh, too much time wasted looking at charts with limited upside potential, trading btc/eth with some leverage may give you better results with more predictability .

Yeah, I mean whales and devs are mostly the ones doing the market making and pumping and killing charts, but its true that jeets panic sell or sell way too early, the whole market sentiment is very much buy some shit early, flip it very quickly and move on to the next one, hard to find something with more 'organic' growth or with devs /community holding and gradually pushing marketing without destroying the chart

I feel like that's a very good description of solana right now, but not base. Base has more actual coins that are "serious" projects that want to last longer, I think personally because they think they can make it a the next big thing once base hits the masses through coinbase, so they're tryharding, kinda. With casino solana everyone kinda gave up and it's a memecoin rug-off to see who can cum first

The low gas fees make it way easier to use. You can toss a couple bucks in a random new coin take out your initial and then just try to sell before it rugs. I've made a like a hundred bucks practicing this on a small scale using base this week. Raydium is kind of slow so I haven't messed with it.

You have to get a feel for how many people you're actually seeing here, there's so many shills you have to be able to tell when it's just a clique spamming or when it's an actual movement towards a coin. The biggest tell is that shills have poor english sometimes, almost always low or very high effort post, and they tend to not offer any downsides or cons to it. When you see people actually discussing a coin, while talking about its weaknesses or saying they're skittish about it (vs. OMG IM ALL IN BROOOS) that's usually worth looking into.
Nothing beats your own research and gut feeling friends
Currently on base, I'm playing with these:
Bluechip ( for memes honestly, the telegram group is funny)
LOBO (it has a very high chance of being one of those "made it" coins when base opens up, autistic dev keeps pumping out new stuff, furries have too much money and will mindlessly buy anything that's close to furry)
RIKU (lots of community behind it with a lot of nft minting otw)
EARNFI (I think the passive income on baseETH will be like honey to normies)
APU (I just felt really fucking sorry for them, this is a pity buy)

I own all the same except Bluechip, since it’s not swappable on Coinbase wallet yet. Pretty heavy on LOBO, a bit hesitant to throw any more at Earnfi but probably will. I also like Circle and have stacks of your of your more established based coins like Mochi, Toshi, Tarot, and Base God. For me it’s a fun distraction so I don’t get tempted to trade my actual longs (Kaspa, Flux, BTC, LTC, AXL, KDA etc). I’m up $10k so far in about a week on base so it’s working out pretty good for me

I don’t recommend buying anything unless it’s actually available on Coinbases wallet. This will prevent you from getting in super early but also lessen your chance of getting immediately rugged. I lost $500 on a base coin shilled here, so that’s just my rule now. I.e LoBO was not available on CB wallet till just 3 or 4 days ago, but once it was that was my sign to jump in. Not sure how CB wallet screens listing base coins, but have yet to be rugged hard on anything I’ve swapped there so far
