Depending on the area of wv, how much you have to spend of that 700k initially, and how self sufficient you are, 700k could last you damned near a lifetime. You can still buy property there with free nat gas wells (that you're responsible for and have to maintain yourself, but still). Get some chickens and a goat, buy a half cow from a neighbor occasionally, learn to can from your garden, and you won't have leave the holler but just a few times a year for supplies and/or medical reasons.
