Am I the only one who thinks it's weird to add your two incomes together if you're a couple? It only really makes sense for things that are a completely shared expense like a car or a house

But even with those things in mind you then have to hash out a house that the both of you like, a car that the both of you like, etc which seems way more complicated than just having the money to pay for something that you want and getting it

I'll see people do things like they hit a certain age and suddenly their net worth like triples because they got married, that doesn't seem like a responsible way of doing things
