My advice to any wagies out there is to try and get in to self-employed work of some kind or start a small business. You really don't realize how much wagies get shafted until you have worked for yourself and seen the other side. It just hurts that we waste so much time and energy on things that are not enjoyable and have nothing to do with living life. The whole job hunt and application bullshit feels so pointless, only to get a job that's even more pointless from a human point of view. All these meaningless activities drain me like nothing else.

The last place I worked had 3 women who ran the place, making six figures each (engineers made 70-90k). There were a total of like 13 workers including cleaning staff and those three cunts, and somehow all three were required to give their input in every project. The truly amazing thing is that they didn’t even know how to power on the equipment we were selling/installing for customers. I cannot tell you how many times myself or another engineer were completely left out of any conversation about a customer visit only to be told we were traveling with no notice, then showing up and one or more crucial elements for doing the job were missing. Now you’re forced to sit around for a day trying to figure out what can and can’t be done before something is shipped. Or worse, something was never even tested so you have to bust your as for a few days trying to figure out if our products would even work for a customers application, only to get shitty results and have to basically lie to get out of there before the customer notices they spent tens of thousands on useless garbage. I doubt this person represents all recruiters, and i doubt there's an exact formula for getting a job, aside from the obvious things that will increase your chances. A lot of it is just luck and who you know. if i happened to be a recruiter, i'd be hiring people who seemed like they really wanted it, and not hiring some aloof applicant.

Why don't people just use reputable staffing agencies? If you have the qualifications on your resume, they will find you interviews with non-shit companies for free. The only reason they have a reputation for only finding shitty work is because mostly only shitty applicants tend to be desperate enough to use any help they can get. They do have connections in competitive industries though, and again its free since its the companies that pay them not you.
