In all seriousness what is causing the collapse of the chink economy? Is there something they are covering up that we dont know about or was evergrande and the real estate bubble worse than we are being told?

The Chinese government has admitted that they overbuilt their housing supply by at least 1.4 billion people. Between 2011 and 2013 they used more concrete than the USA did in the entire 20th century. Chinese people don't have a lot of things to put their money in, and real estate is one of them.

why anyone would voluntarily buy this fake ass sim city economy i have no idea. all of the numbers are obviously fake. there is absolutely no transparency. if i was in china with money I would be clamoring to get my capital out to protect my wealth and my family.

its virtually impossible for their economy to stand, philosophically it must got to zero.

centrally planned economies have never worked in human history, its a function of time only,

as soon as a few hundred officials are running the entire economy it must collapse, if it succeeds then the entirety of economics would need to change, it would be like 1+1 = 3

what you're seeing is the incremental fall to reality, china should collapse but it might take 60-80 years without a major world war

The fact that they are sitting on 20+ years of empty housing inventory that is listed as an 'asset' but they can't sell because that would cause prices to plummet

Their fake economy is crumbling because of overvalued empty consumer real estate while our fake economy full of overvalued empty commercial real estate is strong.

>During the first quarter of 2023, China’s slowing economy barely reached the government growth target of five percent, and it achieved that level only with heavy state spending. The youth unemployment rate is over 20 percent, and many people wonder how their children will be able to get married if they cannot afford to buy an apartment. Figures for the second quarter were slightly better, but only compared with the second quarter of last year, when the economy was nearly brought to a standstill by COVID lockdowns. A variety of indicators show growing vulnerabilities in a range of sectors, and many Chinese feel they are in a recession.
