Block them AFTER they get a refund through Paypal and ruin my feedback? What’s the point. In fact I had a few back-to-back assholes lie to get refunds (one even claiming item not received, despite delivery confirmation, AND THEY WERE REFUNDED ANYWAY) and eBay suspended my account. I was so disgusted I never appealed. What a shit platform. They ruined it years ago.

>> No.57461735

Here is why I am glad I no longer sell on eBay:
>they made Paypal a required form of payment
>they raised their fees
>they removed a seller’s ability to leave negative feedback
>if you left a positive star rating but an honest negative comment about a buyer ripping you off they’d delete your feedback and issue you a strike
>they raised their fees
>they gave no real path to removing an unwarranted negative feedback, even though it impacted your selling ability
>they made your item ranking in the listings dependent upon your level of feedback
>they raised their fees
>the only way to protect your feedback against low shipping stars was to offer free shipping
>Chinese made multiple accounts to list ten items each in ten different sizes items using MY photographs, of things I handcrafted, and used cheap materials, burying my listings under 100’s of their shitty listings; ebay ruled in THEIR favor, because money
>they raised fees
>a buyer did a chargeback on a $1400 ballgown that they did receive, ebsy ruled in their favor, and sucked the money out of my Paypal account

They eventually suspended my seller abilities because I got hit with several scammers in a small window, but even if they had not, I was done selling on ebay. Unless they changed their billing structure between the Paypal fees, final auction value fees, listing fees, and forced free shipping if I wasn’t selling an item at close to 100% markup I was only making a couple of bucks per listing, all which could be wiped away by one asshole scamming me for one listing.

yea easily replaceable, modern in demand cards that sell for a decent margin (20%-100%+) and as little of your time is the perfect cheat code around this. not saying I'm selling out of cards every day and restocking every day, that's not the volume of my business. I do get a few orders most days though, although they're usually 1-2 cards or 10-15 cards.
>>57462218
>Extra money to leverage into better investments
desu I haven't pulled any money out, I've only put money in to buy more and more sealed to hold long term and raw product to sell immediately. however I will say most of the money I've invested into sealed product has gone up 3-8x in value, but it's been 3+ years now since I purchased most of them so that's why. the sets are out of print and only getting older. maybe this is the year the business can sustain itself and won't need outside investment $$ from me (hahahhahah)
>Do you buy them bulk overseas online?
well of course, you have to import foreign product yourself if you want to get the lowest reasonable entry price. you can't avoid middlemen, even my product goes through 2-3 layers of middlemen before I get it.
>I'm not going to encroach on your venture
feel free to! better competition only brings better prices for consumers, however the space is competitive and my margins are already low enough to offer fair prices to get sales. you have to go with lower margin, higher volume if you want to get sales in this space!

I had like 4-6 copies of some cards that you only get one of from Commander decks. So I think it was someone that got bored with the game, stole a bunch of shit from Walmart, and then cashed out. Works fine for me, I've made about 4-5x what I paid over time.

Also I only sell to Canada, since I'm not comfortable enough with international shipping yet. Otherwise, if I were to take it more seriously, I could set up a better inventory management system, sell to the US, and aggressively buy/piece out collections

Yeah, they way ebay bolds “free shipping” and then dims and hides the nonfree shipping is amusing, obviously to convince the buyer that the stuff is cheaper, but it is a weird seller’s conundrum. What does international involve? Do I have to pay extra to send it via Canada Post and then convert it to USPS? Or does Canada Post factor that into the mailing cost ahead of time?
What about customs/borders fees, are those paid by the buyer or do I have to worry about those?
Mostly, I make my money on the shipping ($3.95 in a PWE, which costs about $1.12 each), so I'm not sure how that would interact with tracked services down south. I'm sure I'd get more sales volume in either case.
