How do these compare to modafinil? Ive always considered moda like a very light version of adderall. Doesnt mess with dopamine so you dont have near the comedown. They do make it harder to sleep tho

"Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder" is a misnomer and not scientifically accurate. There is no evidence for a singular type of attention that you either have “enough of”, or not. Instead, each human brain pays attention to the world in different ways. On one side of the distribution are people who can easily focus on one thing for eternity, but can't multi-task at all. On the other end are people who cannot focus on one thing for more than a few minutes, but can easily multi-task. Both modes of brain function would have been useful to evolving human societies, and still are today. Telling a multi-tasker they have “attention deficit disorder” would be like telling a painter they have “musician deficit disorder”.

Stimulants put you into a state of fight-or-flight by artificially activating the sympathetic nervous system. The human body wasn't designed for that, and you will suffer both short and long term consequences. In the short term, you'll be more irritable, snappier with people, less apt to engage in creative or fulfilling activities where survival isn't the goal, etc. In the long term, you can develop adrenal fatigue, chronic depression and anhedonia, muscle atrophy, poor peripheral circulation, and of course severe dependence/addiction.

I was diagnosed with ADHD at age 16. I'm an absolutely classic case. However, ADHD is a phenomenally bad term for what we have. I'm the ultimate multi-tasker. I can focus VERY intently on one thing for very small amounts of time, up to a maximum of around 15-20 minutes. Beyond that, I get bored, have to stop, and do something else completely to reset. Classic ADD. I used to take legal stimulants, and at one point I thought there was no way I could wake up in the morning to an alarm clock and go to school/work without them. Then I figured out it’s all a lie. You should buy pharmaceutical stocks, not adderall.
