NP homie. Seeing as you're now a MoneroChad with a sizable chunk of money in XMR, I'd advice you to install the wallet on a Linux machine. Running your Monero wallet on a Windows/Apple machine basically defeats the entire purpose of Monero.
If you've never used Linux before just get yourself a cheap old laptop and install Linux Mint on it. It's easy as shit and Monero GUI wallet is available in the repo.
