Anyone ever sold coins at auction? I'm looking to sell some of my commemorative coins that I bought at a high premium so I can re-invest in spot price silver. Looking at eBay and previous auctions it seems like I'll break even, but so many ruddy fees. 15% seller's premium, £4.50 per lot, 1% for insurance per item etc.

> The Auctioneers reserve the right to dispose of all unsold lots which they consider to be of negligible re-sale value, including any that have not attracted a minimum bid of £20 and at the Seller’s expense

Seems like a scam, but I've got about 30 commemorative coins I don't care about I'd like to sell. Paid about £60 for each.

>> No.57172665

>>57172635
Fuck me nevermind, it is a scam. Buyer's a pay a hefty premium, and sellers buy a hefty premium when they sell. Then with all the fees these people must be raking it in.

> A lotting fee of £6.50 per lot will be levied on every lot entered for auction on each occasion it is offered for sale. This charge covers the catalogue description, research and marketing. The lotting fee is payable irrespective of whether or not the lot is sold.
> A commission charge of 13.0% of the hammer price will be deducted from the proceeds of the sale.
> A loss and damage waiver of 1.5% will be charged on the total sale price

So if a coin sells for £65, I end up getting £50. Seems like a bit of a waste, making a £15 loss IF it sells at that price.

I don't mean to dunk on you personally, but this is the fate of all silver stackers when they realize they need real money and not tarnishing tokens they thought were rare collectors items/sound money. You got ropped into a "redpilled" monetary ideology that's really just thinly veiled consoomerism. Sorry for your loses, but let this serve as an example to other "stackers" here or those who are silver curious. Silver is a boomer meme. Nah, it's more about making sure you do research before getting into stacking. I didn't know about pmg or premiums so I just went to the Royal Mint and bought every coin I liked. Then when the queen died I bought every single one that I could get as I assumed they'd go up in value.
They probably will gradually, not as fast for high mintage ones of course, but you're limited to selling to other collectors. Pic related is one coin I have, bought for £57.50 in 2022, so even after fees and shipping I'm breaking even. And it's just a random coin, not that rare or interesting.

Silver was £6 an ounce in 2008, £18 today. Inflation wise today, £6 would only be £9.32 today. has it performed as well as gold, stocks or bonds? No. Is it safer than bonds and stocks? yes. Is it cheaper than gold and therefore more accessible to the average consumer? Yes.
Diversify your portfolio, spread your investments and buy gold as well as silver. Stacking silver because it's going to hit the moon when SHTF and will be 100x as much because FIAT has collapsed is idiotic however.

That is the most retarded argument I've heard yet. Clinging to "outdated and irrelevant concepts" is a fallacy. Metals have proven through human history to be a safe haven. The last 7,000 years have yet to be disproven on that. All the "new and current" things are a vessel for financial destruction.

Did some analysis and it doesn't seem like eBay would be that bad. Paid £957.18 for the coins I want to sell silver value of £178.71. Selling them on eBay, averaging the cheapest sold price and cheapest currently selling price, has me making £1,057.59 after fees and shipping.
Not too bad to be honest, happy with breaking even. Shipping has each parcel insured up to £50 so even if they lose each parcel that's still £1,050. Just need to take a video of me boxing each parcel beforehand to avoid scammers.

That's not where you'd get the best deals. That said, ASEs premiums are at a several years low rn so it's not a bad time to go for them if it's really what you want.
If you want .999 minted by a government and the best bang for your bux quantity wise, you should look after armenians' Noah's Arks or austrian's Philharmonics. They often are the cheapest options, alongside kangoos, but kangoos are so incredibly ugly you should never consider them as an option, no matter the discount. Personally the Noah's Ark are my favs : well known, cheap, good quality control, nice design, small mintage, and the Js are hellbent on destroying this nation, so they must be doing something right.

Otherwise, old constitutional is always a valid option if you know where to look for, and it never disappoint.
ps : a small % of your cash for silver should always be dedicated at purchasing nazi reichsmarks. It's the best performer when it comes to silber, and is always very liquid.

But it's just an unreliable estimate, and I can't be certain I'd be able to fit two of these capsules side-by-side in the safe. Not sure it's even worth unsealing one of them to measure.

Fudge that ones hard to explain in meme form but, like in the late 60's similar to how DeGaulle was draining the fed of the fine precious metals and bullion from the Vault, Adol had done the same thing; aware that exorbant money printing had just happened in the USA he merely redeemed the dollars he exchanged for silver. However the Germans were in a particular position as shorting of metals had just been banned and financiers expelled; the metal was worth more over there than it was over here so a half oz 5Rm coin was trading for two silver certificates, redeemed for 2 oz of silver coinage then remelted into reichs, for the repetition of this process.
>5Rm coin 1/2 oz
They are actually .44 i believe
>2 oz of silver coinage
Silver dollars are .77, so 1.54 oz of metal
He was trading about 1 piece of silver for 4 pieces
Imagine if the swiss began slurping our kennedy coin CuNi to melt into $5 swiss coinage

Stopped by my local coin dealers. Spot is still a little too high to make my first purchase. But being inside and seeing all the unique and historical coins along with some recongizable bullions for lower prices than the online retailers. It made me feel like I was 24 in a warhammer shop again. Or a 16 year old in a comic book store. Or a 11 year old in game stop. Or a kid in a candy store. Fore sure going to get a dragon round/bar 1oz. Just know that by this time next week, silver will be below 22

Me think a widly accepted medium of exchange is much more important in a societal collapse than weapons.
As long as money exist, you will always manage to have an ersatz of functioning society at a local level, whereas weapons don't accomplish much in this situation (unless you are a hunter i suppose, but then it's simply a tool used to accomplish your work).

Whatever future is awaiting us, i wish no frens here will ever be in a situation where he need to kill another human to survive (unless it's a J, then it's open season on these fuckers).

There will always be people who want what you (or your community) have, more so if you are prosperous. Even now. And if given the opportunity, or (perceived) lack of consequences, they will try to take it. and if they want it bad enough and think they might be able to get away with it, kill you in the process. This has always been the case. In the past, now, and in the future. Being armed allows to you the freedom to not have to rely on others for protection. It is of utmost importance.

Okaaay...
The economy seems to be doing pretty well. Stocks are going up, interest rates are coming down, and investing fiat into the normie system seems like a winning proposition. Although PMs (Ag in particular) had been down a lot, they haven't moved much in the last 5 years, and people are becoming disillusioned by them.
Those who buy larger bars are investing in the commodity. So these are now less popular as the returns from the conventional investments are yielding higher returns. As people get 'richer', they realize they can afford the prettier stuff - the 1 and 2 ozt rounds with interesting designs. So the larger bars (*which have lower premiums anyway) are less popular and low demand drives prices down, but smol stuff is still intriguing and premiums remain high.

Bob once said that he bought and resold his stack a few times. And i suspect some will do that here. I don’t recommend it, Bob also said that people will have a midlife crisis and up selling their silver because they see it as dead weight, I totally get that. Per Bob’s suggestion is to start your own business to deal with that feeling. And thats what I did and it very certainly helps although its tough because you have a lot of work you put in that doesn’t see much return sometimes, but other times its great.
I think every man should try to start his own business at some point, Just don’t get rid of your entire stack if you can help it.
Just running errands today and thinking that bros shouldn't forget why they started stacking in the first place. Hold on tight. I see a lot of speculative bubbles coming and you dont want to get caught up in that because you feel you aren’t moving forward with PMs, I think you were right to buy it and hold it when you did. talk to you later.

Thanks for that link, but it's confusing.
"If the customer picks up the item at the seller’s location, tax should be collected for the state in which the seller is located. If the item is shipped to the customer, then tax applies for the delivery state, whether that is the same state where the seller is located or a different state."
But as you also say and I've seen done, that's not the interpretation at least in WA.
Law is confusing to me.

For primates I'd agree, especially as civilian bullet choices extend fragmentation range quite a bit even in an SBR .. however for sth. like e.g. moose, a .308 could make more sense and still be common enough to be inexpensive to shoot.

You can shoot through car doors with a 9mm, that's not even a consideration. Either 5.56 or .308 will handle soft armor fine, neither will work for plates but .308 will do better than the 5.56 if you can get multiple hits.

You will never come upon this situation, and even if you do, both 5.56 and .308 will go through most things a person is likely to hide behind with the right projectile. If you plan on shooting at something with body armor, .308 wins with the right load.

Silver is real money faggot. And no one who buys conservative amounts of silver proportionate to their new worth will have to do that anyways. Considering the outsized gains that could come with silver ownership, that 5% silver portion of someone’s portfolio could easily become 10-15% of all their holdings in another bull run. That’s without factoring in mining equities, which themselves will be levered to the silver price and appreciate considerably more.
