You should study history. The new year often marks reversals.
Here are a few just from the last 5-6 years:
>fall 2017 to winter 2018
Markets topped after pumping the entire first year of Trumps presidency. Crabbed for 6 months afterwards, then collapsed on rate hikes
>fall 2018 to winter 2019
Markets bottomed on christmas after a tax loss season collapse into rate hikes peaking and China trade war fears
>fall 2019 to winter 2020
This one didn't peak until early February with a big blowoff top. I think you know what happened next.
>fall 2020 to winter 2021
New election meant new deficit spending and a competition for which candidate can push out the biggest checks to the median voter. Markets pumped, obviously. Still - There was a dip in early January with a temporary pause after the post-Nov election pumping.
>fall 2021 to winter 2022
Absolute market peak. Still have not seen S&P push new highs.
>fall 2022 to winter 2023
Markets crabbed all December on tax loss selling, after bouncing from the absolute lows of October. Then January marked a shift towards the true bull run we saw all year - aside from that temporary March banking panic.

It's not an overnight thesis. It will take several weeks to play out. When the weather says a hurricane is coming next week, you don't pack a raincoat for tomorrow.
I could be wrong of course, I often am. But I also know that I personally have $80k in gains left unrealized that I plan to offload soon. I know I'm not the only one. A 25% year over year gain for the largest most popular index in the world tends to do that. And I don't trade on absolutes. I'm content to understand that winning 51% of the time on even odds is good enough to compound positively, as long as you properly kelly-size those bets. Buying into this market objectively presents significantly worse risk/reward than 2-3 months ago. Real yields are lower.

Meanwhile, you haven't contributed anything of value. Your refutations are worthless. Rather than provide a counterargument to support a continued bull trend, you simply imply that I'm a shizo bear as if that immediately discredits the entire idea. The irony is that you've self-admitted to producing negative alpha this past year with respect to your own benchmark index, VOO.
When markets have been in a recent uptrend, anything that might be perceived as bearish must be a schizo poster. When markets have been dumping for weeks, all bobos are retards.
You're right about one thing, it's all so tiring. People like you are why momentum itself has positive alpha, but even that is not infinite. Nothing goes up forever.

USA gives you two ways to prepare for health care costs by pulling money out of your paycheck and avoiding taxes. If you're sick or old (like you got cancer) and you know you're gonna have medical bills then go for an FSA. It pairs with a low cost deductible health care plan and saves you money. But any money you have left in the FSA at the end of the year is lost. It's best for people that are old or know they have big costs this year.

The other is an HSA. It allows you to do the same but the money is yours forever so it stacks each year. It comes with a high deductible plan so if you do get sick you have to pay more. This is best for young people who are healthy.

You can also swap between them. So what a lot of people do is build up in am HSA, swap to an FSA when they want to have children, and then go back.

And then you have the degenerate morons who don't have a job and are planning to die alone and think health care plans are scams.

I just react real negatively to that proclamation style you were using. You got a theory? That's cool, I'll listen. "Markets WILL be 10% lower within 3 weeks."? That's a promise, and you've got to act responsibly when you say shit like that. Yeah I was too conservative in 2023. I'm not perfect, but when I make suggestions or predictions I make responsible ones, common wisdom stuff, because the last thing I want to do is cause someone to lose it all. I'm not telling people to pump my penny stocks because I'm not here to rug people or drag people into the swamp with me.
Your theory obviously makes sense, new tax season, but you can't reach a number with just that idea. You can't reach 10% and you can't reach 3 weeks. You're bullshitting. You admit it's not ironclad here but I had to drag that out of you and you still haven't explained how you got there in the first place. There's no argument for me to counter. You can hold anything that a brockerage account can. So stocks, etfs, mutual funds, bonds, etc. Its essentially a 401k because you once you reach 65 you can use it for non medical things.

If you start early and stick with it factoring it into your budget ($345 a month) your health care will essentially be free and you'll an additional small retirement plan.

>etfs and etns?
If you buy an ETF, you're buying a tiny fractional percent of the equities that the ETF holds. Like, if you buy a share in an S&P 500 ETF, you own a fraction of each company in the S&P 500 (in accordance with whatever proportions the ETF follows).
My understanding of ETNs is that you're buying a contract with the ETN issuer or some counterparty. You don't own any fractions of any equities, but they owe you more if the ETN moves in your direction (and less if it moves against you). Since there's no underlying assets that you own through them, it's essentially just a debt that they owe you which fluctuates in value based on what the ETN tracks. In theory, the ETN issuer is supposed to (required to maybe?) backstop that debt by buying equities that can be liquidated to fulfill the debt, but that doesn't always work out and ETNs can go bankrupt.
