Before I posted I checked the reviews on amazon.

I only found one product, it wasn't monarch metals. An imitation, but that doesn't necessarily mean a fake. I read bad and neutral reviews. Several said the bars were overweight, and suspected fake, but nobody reviewed them as absolutely fakes.

I tend to take what people here say at face value. If he says he got an off-brand fake I believe it. I've never heard of it before, but that doesn't mean shit. I'm not an expert on silver legos or anything and I do know the only silver bricks I saw on amazon were off-brand.

protip, metal detectors suck at telling silver from copper, and iron from gold. Those 2 pairs group within the same resistivity ranges, so they're hard for machines to tell apart without knowing exact density of the target.

I feel like I see way too much novelty silver. My favorite aspects of seeing a stack are familiar rounds and bars comparable to what I own. I'd rather see a pic with a tube of buffalos than whatever premium novelty coin they can sell. I'm not saying they don't look nice, but the uniformity of the silver and knowing I have some of the exact same pieces in a lesser or greater quantity just hits different.

I found out recently that legal tender can be recalled and if you don't had it in you can go to prison. If you have gold coins that are not the legal tender of your country then the system can't recall them. It means that monetary liquidity can exist without state interference. Basically is it a good idea to diversify your precious metals with coins like the Krugerrand and high karat jewellery.
