What is the point of getting a patent if youre a small business if a big fish can just rape you in the legal fee battle. How does a patent protect your idea exactly? Is it just useful for big companies?

patents are necessary to protect people's research. Imagine you have an idea that you intend to make money with and it is stolen. I'd rather cut my skin off with a nail clipper or sell my beta access to beoble than avoid patents.
