Its Anti Money Laundering and Know Your Customer additional regulations that went into effect late last year that tightened up banks and brokerages.

Basically if you move money into and out of your brokerage and it gets flagged as suspicious, your account(s) can get terminated, you get a lifetime ban at the brokerage, and your fucked if the brokerage is also your bank/where you pay your bills. Basically like getting debanked.

No, I just watched some of the video and then read the comments. I hate boomers but I also hate these xiennial type faggots from california who never got over George W. Bush and think they can post actual threats with their real name while having a master's in journalism like that's not going to backfire horribly. This is shit I've been paranoid about since I was 17 when the FBI still thought 4chan was some reclusive hacker website. I have no idea how these people live that they're like "yeah just give out my real name that'll go well oh and tag public officials like it's a forum for underage kids, except I'm not underage".

This guy managed to coast his entire life because of the weird fascination with faggots this society has had under Obama/Biden and has never quite had to live the reality where being a weird fuckup should get you blacklisted (but I guess that became his reality when he dipped his toes into a normal state after leaving california and got bitchslapped by reality).

Kek. To fund all the proposed salary increases for state workers (me) that was outlined in a report it'd cost the state a puny 77 million extra plus the 80 million already allocated. The state is sitting on record 1 billion+ rainy day cash pile. Also the income tax is going down a bit to starting in January. If it all passes I'm looking at 6% hike in 2024, 4% hike in 2025 plus another still undetermined amount based on the years of time I've got in. Also further 5% annual hikes taking effect after all that. Needless to say I'll be drowning in excess green. Yay me!

It's not strictly needed. But then again I gotta do something with my money. I'm already stuffing it into a emergency fund. My 401k's on track to give me nice pile, uh between my pension and it, well money won't be an issue. Unless I live to be 110 that is. So jacking it more is useless. And man the chart looks like dogshit because of this megapump that happened back then. Will it ever reach ATH? These bubbles were scaring as fuck. Absolute madness. I wonder if we are going to see something similar with BTC, or it will not be enough for 3333$+?

Yeah I witnessed that period. My only investment then was my 401k. The upshot was I'd only started it in 2005. So that whole time my losses weren't so bad compared to say someone who'd had one for 10-15 years. I just kept rolling into it. I mean hell I figured it'd recover and I'd be getting cheap shares in the meantime. When the 2020 crash happened I was in a better position to really capitalize. I jacked my contributions over 3x a month.

When I got hired in 2005 I wasn't making much. It's not like I was wham pulling anywhere close to what I'm doing now on day one. I was ok financially though. Then the down payment on the house during the fallout of 2008 sucked a lot of that cash. Point is I was on a tight budget for a long time. (they were tightwads about giving any pay hikes in those days to). But the raises came, the promotions came and soon the cash pile grew. Till finally it was getting a bit obscene. At the height I was sitting on roughly a year of expense money. With zero debt. They say 6 months is perfect. A product of me saving every penny I could. So I had to blow it on something. Enter the brokerage account. Then along came inflation and the "shat happens" events that fucked up a lot of things. But oh well. SAVE gains righted the financial ship again.

Can't speak for KO boomer, but meme shit tends to produce more losers than winners. Even if you profit off a pump and dump, what's left in your wake is someone else holding the bag back down generating even bigger losses.
There's a certain moral disgust in knowingly contributing to this cycle, even if you're confident that some greater fools will be riding behind you to ensure your profitable exit.

With more stable, larger tickers the connection feels more tenuous, and ideally a holding in a profitable business is generating real value for the world. Arbitrage plays also feel more comfortable, since the end goal is out of my hands. I merely become a liquidity provider based on my non-consensus views of the probabilities.
You may not share these moral views. In that case, carry on with whatever makes you happy.

That's correct. In market terms, the phrase 'forward looking' is different. When people say this in the context of markets they are mostly talking about the market accounting for expected things before they actually happen. It's not entirely true. It's partly true and partly not. Not everything is priced in.

I'm pretty sure it means something different in relation to the market. But it is used so often as a meme, maybe it is sometimes used different as a joke.

A lot is not priced in, otherwise there wouldn't be large moves. NVDA for example was priced in as they didn't pump on better earnings. In this case Bobos could have spouted the

>Central Banks Shouldn’t Rush To Join Fed Policy Pivot, IMF Says - BBG

Even she says not to pivot. The reason for Powell's softness must come from the treasury. If the economy was strong he would simply hold them higher for longer to ensure inflation at 2%.

If he lowers while inflation hasn't hit 2% for consecutive months, he is risking it to go higher and stay above.

How is Powell thinking about lowering rates when the ECB isn't which has to manage different states with different ratings and amounts of debts etc and a continent that is performing way worse than the US.

If somebody, the ECB should pivot sooner than later and not the US. Especially when you consider that the effect of a pivot of the ECB in regards to Oil and other commodities is pretty low in comparison to an US pivot.

And yet the markets are still pumping like crazy. This is such utter bs. I kind of wanted to pick up a short position last night. Good thing I didn't. This piece of shit is unpredictable. I could have made WAY more back then but I pussied out because of its retarded moves, literally closed positions right during the october crash. because it mooned like a retard for a week.

This thing has no limits unlike other EU indices.

Also, inflation ain't down. The inflationary rate (i.e., the derivative) has gone down. But a medium inflationary rate (3-5%) from a 10-15% rate of last year is still damn high.
I don't understand why nobody brings that up in those FOMC meetings. 2% inflation rate from a 12% rate last year is still way higher than their goal.
>>56988359
I had a good look at it today and something about it seems off. Something about it smells weird but I can't put my finger on it. You would think that the market can't sustain such overbought conditions when coupled with an official recession, but I guess not

It's absolute dogshit to have 3% inflation after 2x 6-7% the previous years AND having rates above 5%.

And then to hint at rate cuts it's the most cucked fuckin thing he could do. Fuck Powell. Lagarde has more balls than him.

I think they have now committed to 3-5 cuts but the markets seem to be pricing even more, wtf? The central banks just told everyone on TV that inflation is largely fixed and that rates will be going down faster than expected. That is gonna fuel inflation ffs. We already see mortgage applications going up and that's at 7%. People are expecting the rates to quickly drop and then to refinance.
Holy hell, what a retarded schlomo market.
>>56988388
How about shorting the mega caps, then? We are already starting to see some rotation from them to the small caps because rates are gonna fall drastically, which theoretically benefits small caps more.
While Russel for example has gone spectacularly these last weeks, the magnificent seven has been struggling and even gone down (e.g., MSFT)

I didn't short the dip. I shorted OMX above 2200, actually above 2260. But this fucker just goes on and on and on and on. And even pumped later than DAX and the US. Suddenly out of nothing, I was a week too early, fuckin delay.

Same with DAX. I saw the US pumping 4 weeks til CPI report in november. DAX was lagging behind. I thought, ok, maybe DAX is now weaker, power balances can shift and sometimes one index is stronger. I mean germany is pretty bad right now.

Then CPI happens and DAX fuckin awakes from its slumber and goes for new ATH? AND outperforms the US? Wtf?

You can't trade the EU with conviction as you can't know what retarded moves they make. Sometimes they pump earlier than the US. Sometimes day after. They don't move 1:1 and this can really fuck you up.

This is why the FTSE (UK) is better. The british seems to have some power over their own stocks. Meanwhile EU seems completely US controlled, even though lagging.
