and every fucking time, they've been wrong

Because post-2008 its all fake yield. Before 2008 the interest rates were paid by banks because they needed to borrow money to meet reserve requirements. So rates were actually positive when adjusting for supple inflation. Post 2008 the fed just pays ponzi interest on bank reserves to set the floor for rates, all the yield is paid from supply dilution. The rates aren't tight at all, because at 4, 5, 6%, it doesn't matter, it just comes from money printing and not other people. Its no different than a high APY shitcoin that just pays the APY from minted tokens. We technically still have ZIRP which is really negative because inflation far exceeds interest rate.
