>Phase 3 is likely to succeed, Phase 1-2 are the risky ones
>Buy or sell whatever with good position sizing and risk management
https://www.fdatracker.com/fda-calendar/

The tricky part for me was setting my stops correctly. Biotechs have the random fuckyou candles, so I was doing 1% risk, but had it so that I did half the usual position size, but 2x the SL. This was all well and good, but when the upsides happened, it just didn't have enough size to really push me profitable. About 60% of my losses came from transaction fees.

This was just naive longs for the most part, but with a few technicals you could probably ignore flat trades and get slightly better timing, and also go short. I was also doing ATR/sector hedges with long positions in both LABU and LABD (broken charges txn fees on etfs only when I sell them). Overall I feel like I could navigate it somewhat better this time, but I want to wait until 2024 and tweak things a bit

>I wouldn't load up more than 10% of my port in pharms
Hence the hedges. The idea was that I'd take an amount of LABD to hedge my long positions to remain mostly market neutral. If the whole sector goes up or down, I should stay about the same. It's when a big trend like that happens you get your alpha.
You could do this with any sector, but I went with bioshit FDA, since it's already volatile and it then has a catalyst

Of course. The banks are relying on the y/y effect to do the job for them... and it's working. The restrictive policy is bullcrap and it has been proven time and time again that the money is still in the system. Looking at it now, it was extremely obvious that the bottom was last year.
The ECB got lucky since electricity prices highly contributed to the deflation we saw last month.
But November and December prices are already much much higher so the m/m inflation should pick back up. But by then the market is gonna be so high on Santa Rally that it won't matter. We will continue pumping.
Restrictive policy my god damn ass. Punish the working man while keep juicing those corpos. Nice. Though I can't really complain all that much since I got a nice raise (but compare it to record earnings of these companies and suddenly my raise doesn't seem that good)

the dot com bubble happened because tons of companies who didn't have any revenue and profitability at all were vastly overvalued just because they were vaguely connected to tech and the internet. The current Nasdaq on the other hand is being propped up by a handful of blue chip tech stock giants who have consistently beaten their expected revenue and are stronger than ever before. A 50% pullback is very unlikely and if it actually happened, it would be a once in a lifetime buying opportunity and everybody would be buying the dip so it would be a very quick recovery, like after the covid crash.

Inflation is good for many things:
1) stock growth because inflation allows them to price gouge and because stocks are the best way to hedge against inflation
2) Transfer wealth to larger companies which is once again beneficial for the stock market
3) More consoomerism which is beneficial for the economy and the market

Sure, inflation is bad for the newer generations and the poorer classes but it's good for everyone with a stake in the market. That has been known for ages.

well, think about it as if you actually had generated what you think is a good idea.
the vast majority of people will say to themselves, "i have no market confirmation of this idea yet, i'd better not go reveal it, i might be made to look like a fool if its a bad trade"
in great part this is because they lack conviction, and often they lack conviction because they subconsciously recognize their idea generation is garbage. they themselves picked it up from something mainstream.
if your idea generation is good, and you do your homework, you don't care about one bad trade.

there are many examples of this.
you must also discard the idea that something that just roared upwards at six sigmas is now necessarily a bad idea because of that action. only look forward. there can still be a trade idea there.
