BIG NEWS!

UK court rules in favour of LME's metal market manipulation.

https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2023-11-29/lme-wins-nickel-crisis-case-as-uk-rules-against-elliott?leadSource=uverify%20wall

This means that there's very little chance of market price discovery actually happening because the gangsters run the country. We will have a similar situation to Argentina where the price of metals will be worth more on the public market than the corporation's metal market. IIRC there was a similar situation that happened in the 60's here where gold could be sold for more on mainland Europe and then that currency exchanged back into GBP which resulted in the UK government implemented capital controls.

>It's a much more complex -and mortal- craft than i imagined.

Indeed it is fren, and since most people know nothing at all about the art of slinging or its artifacts there are no normies or retards to stink things up, it is a very comfy and fascinating space to allow one's autism to roam free. It's lots of fun to chuck stones with a sling, the elegant simplicity of a weapon that can be worn as a necklace or belt or wadded up in one's pocket would make it a helluva tool for dealing with commies and BLM rioters the next time a lowlife overdoses on drugs near a white cop.

Not related but wanna share my joyous win today, I slurped a magnificent rare ancient cheapie this morning. The seller was a retard and did the worst job imaginable with their title, description, and choice of category to list it in so while the total cost of $294 isn't peanuts I could probably flip it for $1000+ ezpz.

It's an actually genuine (almost all are fakes) ancient ~1,800-1,900 BC Babylonian baked clay Cuneiform tablet, with beautiful provenance. Of the few cuneiform tablets that are actually genuine most have insufficient or zero provenance, but this has the receipt from a prestigious antiquarian book dealer and the name of the professor who bought it for 10.5 GBP back on April 13th, 1939. What he paid was the equivalent of $46.62 USD back when gold was $35/oz, so $294 today is nothing. Feels fucking good bro, ever since I was a little kid I always wanted a Cuneiform tablet but all I've seen besides this have been fake, unprovenanced loot, or priced ridiculously high. Major fucking win for an antiquities autist.

You should look up on univ databases for translating apps, from cuneiform > english. It will first require you to take a pic with max brightness then use another tool to convert it on B&W over a flat page.

I do. I occasionally sort through penny boxes and on a couple occasions purchased 33 pound shipments of copper pennies for $110 each on Ebay.
It is the cheapest way to buy copper and I believe the 10x spikes we see in the LME with Nickel and Zinc(tin?) are a dire foreboding of things to come. That's not some glitch, that was someone placing bets and the commodity managers weren't prepared to short the necessary amount of contracts to contain the price. I think the fundamentals will one day overwhelm the paper-band-aids all over everything. The paper-ponzi has built-in exponential functions which implies will only get worse from here as there is no way to back off the paper-ponzi without it imploding. More deficits and more spending will occur in perpetuity until things just blow up in our face. And even if they can find some way to stave off the inevitable it is only temporary.
Just look at what a few copper pennies could buy you. (granted, this is change for silver, but still!)
Also, the simple fact is that oil will probably never be cheaper than it is right now the the paper-ponzi intact. Natural resources are going to get very expensive and that means extracting metals will as well.

I just come back from the place with the biggest copper stack i've ever seen. I was allowed to visit the rooftop of the Cathedral of Chartres, one of the oldest gothic cathedral in the world (well, it's not hard they all are here), and to me the most magnificent building ever built. But i'm biaised, i often visited it as a little kid and now nostalgia is kicking in.

Anyway, initially the gothic roof was made out of lead, supported by a huge oaks' frame, called a "forest". But in early 1800s a big fire started and the entire roof went up in ashes. And what's worst is it rained down tons of molten lead all over the church.
King Louis-Philippe ordered the restauration of the roof, but since we were in the early days of the industrial revolution, he wanted to flex on the british, and asked for the frame to be made out of.. cast iron. And it was decided to use copper instead of lead for the new roof, which is very pretty.
So i just saw 5200 sq meters of enormous copper tiles 60m above the ground. 11,000 tiles precisely. Quite a living dream for a copper enjoyer!

The problem with mining stocks is the they are so severely neglected for capital which allowed financing companies to basically strangle them to death in order to secure the mining product. Much of which I imagine is used to funnel into the COMEX.
It is true, that back in the 1960s mining stocks made massive multiples, from 5x-100x. So there is extreme upside. The risks are very extreme where if the dollar does break apart and turmoil ensues, there is a high likelihood that mines get nationalized. I only spent several thousand on mining stocks and if I invest in any more it will be in dividend paying majors. Juniors are a sickly, shitty dreary investment to hold. And they often get reorganized causing you to lose shares and incur fees.
No one knows what the future will hold, but I have a hard time imagining a major credit event occurring and stocks escaping intact. Nations will be more than willing to burn shareholders ESPECIALLY foreigners. I wouldn't want to be an American traveling abroad when shit blows up either.

You're almost guaranteed to lose money, not gain it. We've seen hundreds of fools like you come and go just in the last couple years. If even one of you came in and posted gains it might be a different story. But even when you make modest gains you lose even more on some other terrible company.

Metals crabbed during that period.
People aren't rushing in to mining stocks because they don't know if the gold/silver bull market is solidly in place. Once gold passes $2100 and further and stays above that level, you're going to see massive capital rushing into the mining sector. Happens every time.

It didn't even reach an ATH. The trend for metals is exponential rises upward over long periods as states keep printing money.

About as far as I got down that path was looking for universities with healthy/active departments that teach it and might provide a translation in exchange for letting them borrow it for use in class or by a doctoral student or whatever. Yep, those wrist-rockets got me into lots of trouble as a kid lol. I've practiced with the old-style shepherd's sling intermittently for 8 years but I honestly ain't too good at it. MUCH easier and more powerful is the "staff sling" which is like a hand-held trebuchet, very easy to build and you can accurately hurl rather heavier payloads faster and further and it's considerably easier for noobs too. Not as agile or compact as the shepherd's sling but their deadly power more than compensates. 10/10 would recommend.

yeah, probably. Hard to say though. When the printer went brrrrr in 2020-21 I was expecting $50 silver and $3k gold by the end of that year. We all were. Inflation is real but I don't know when it's going to hit.

might be starting right now. Hopefully.

but even if this is the great metals moonshot, that doesn't necessarily mean mining stocks are a good deal. Maybe they would be, maybe not. As a group they should go up, but anons always seem to pick the losers and stick with them.

fair enough readers have been warned.

I don't stack metals and I don't expect metal prices to go up enough in the short term to make the effort worth it.

I own a multimillion dollar metal mining firm in the US, our main job is disposing of the messes left by junior miners when they go bankrupt.

I don't invest in miners. If I did, I would invest in majors or a fund. But even those tend to underperform the market in general.

you do you. You've proven you have no skin in this game, and you're an idjit that anyone here should recognize. I on the other hand make my living directly from mining and I'd urge people not to buy miners, certainly don't buy junior miners, and absolutely don't try to pick your own junior miners to buy. That's just asking for a loss.

They shipped from a drop shipping location out of a 7-11 in San Francisco and the seller closed their account while the coins were in the mail. The coins showed up on individual bubble wrap envelopes. They seem real to me. The weight is correct. They ping like other ASEs i have. Nonetheless it seems a little suspicious. I think they are either fake, stolen, or being sold by a drug addict with rich family.

If you're still here, can you post any pictures? The individual wrapping sounds typical of Chinese fake bullion but I'm sure plenty of legit PMs are packaged similarly. Overall it sounds almost certainly like a scam though, if they were charging less than spot then everyone's bullshit detector would be sounding off but a price of $27, albeit well below retail, will register as a "good deal" to more customers and is less likely to attract unwanted scrutiny. The Porterhouse is cut from the short loin nearest the sirloin and is popular because of its generous section of tenderloin. It usually is cut to be 1 1/4 to 3 inches thick. One good-sized steak easily feeds four. Porterhouses are distinguished by their "tail," which should be folded back against the steak and held in place with a small metal or wooden skewer for even grilling. The tail can also be removed, ground, and cooked alongside the steak as a burger. When grilling any steak, but particularly a Porterhouse steak with a tail, watch for flare-ups when the fat drips on the coals.

I even though of buying a signa for around 1k, but I know those can be fooled too

all precious metals doubled in price in 2020, and have since went sideways.

Whats up with that? did anyone here actually make any profit buying PM's?

You could have put that money into anything else since 2020 and doubled or tripled your investment. What type of mental retardation does it take to "invest" in metals?
