From the moment I understood the weakness of my unleveraged equities, it disgusted me. I craved the gains and certainty of leverage. I aspired to the purity of the 3x Bull ETF. Your kind cling to your dividends, as though they will not decay and fail you. One day the crude index you call the Shit and Piss 500 will wither, and you will beg my kind to save you. But I am already saved, for the Leverage is immortal… Even in death I serve the Neon Greenissiah.

It's just so that you can have shares without having them at a brockerage. The idea being that brokerages lend out your shares to short sellers so they can cover their positions

But the problem is that brockerage do that to keep costs down. Even vanguard does that as a way to bring their ETF expense ratios down to literally 0%. DRS is expensive which is retarded since trading now comes with zero fees

It's just because they have a misunderstanding on how options work. They think it can artificially bring down the price which is again stupid and wrong.

The way it works is the judge tries to get you and everyone you owe together to come up with a five year payment plan. If you can't figure something out often they force you to sell stuff and if you *still* can't figure things out only then do they start talking about making the debt go away. There really isn't much of a point in going beyond EG Discover unless you take home more than $6k a month (make sure you've maxed out your 401k or IRA, if so congrats.) I have a credit score in the high 700s with that. It's enough that I'm able to get a normal non-FHA mortgage even with a pretty small down payment.
It only takes a couple mistakes for the thing to have a negative profit though. If you're the kind of person who stays *on top* of things 100% of the time it's fine. Otherwise yeah you'll lose money.

It also makes the stock illiquid if enough people do it.
Ironically, illiquidity makes it easier for short sellers to drive the price down. Buying through computershare also isn't instantaneous, you have to wait three fucking days before your shares are purchased, meaning the price can fluctuate at anytime between then. The only time it ever makes sense to DRS is if you're an insider, which is the reason that system even exists to begin with.

>> No.56759671

>>56758206
If you are paranoid about a brokerage holding your shares and possibly using them without your permission then you can spend a lot of money to keep them all to yourself.
GME baggies think that there are a quadrillion fake shares sitting in the brokerage that are all short sold (a literal 2 year old short sale) so if they just DRS all the shares in existence the brokerages will be caught with their pants down and there will be another short squeeze.
It's a super retarded thing to do seeing as how Gamestop can/will/has just offered more shares on to the open market.
It's also super retarded because there's not really a good exit plan to sell a physical share. People already complain about premiums and mark-ups on physical gold because of fakes so you can only imagine the nightmare trying to hock Gamestop shares.

tl;dr - GME Baggies are stupid. Never take their advice.

Sure. But in your opinion, would it make sense to purchase shares without a brokerage?
Between the high purchase fees and having to wait entire days for you order to execute, why would you? Unless you're an insider who legally has to go through the registration system anyways.

SPY or QQQ LEAPS. Furthest ITM, furthest expiration date. You should generally get around 1.5x to 2x leverage, and they create a synthetic share position. Roll at expiration. If you're too dumb for options then SSO and QLD for 2x daily leverage. Or just buy SPY and QQQ. Particularly QQQ if you can stomach higher volatility for higher annual alpha. So many situations like that. Very rare for a company to actually pay out capital returns beyond what investors cumulatively paid in. Most of the time, earning a capital gain comes from riding the waves well and dumping bags onto some bigger sucker.

True value plays and arbitrage situations don't tend to get much attention. PBR is one exception, but even that gets a lot of doubters.

Usually I don't have much of a cash position, but earlier this month I sold some after a big pump so I had like a bunch just sitting there (the stock I sold kept going up... but that's another story). I was waiting for a good dip to buy back in, but one never came, so I eventually dumped it in JPST. If I can get the same interest rate in my core position, that'd be great, since settlement times for cash accounts suck

Rsv tends to target kids predominantly and spreads like wildfire in the winter. But this is normal and expected. While im pretty sure that the ching chow government is being honest when they say that post lockdown flu and other viral illnesses are simply catching up with an immunologically immature population, I can't help but suspect that Coof II: Electric Boogaloo is brewing. He'll, even normal viruses can fuck an economy over if they start to rage bad enough. Lost labor and lock downs.

Another concern is that when viruses or bacteria start to spread rapidly enough in a population, there is a proportionately statistically significant rise in the chances of one or two of said organisms developing resistance to treatment, or other superpowers. Just a pure chance thing. More bugs = higher odds that one ends up with random mutations that are beneficial.

>UBS is one of the world’s safest large institutions, the Swiss bank's CEO said while speaking at a Swiss Risk Association event on Wednesday.
>"Even in the unlikely event of something going wrong at UBS, we have enough cushion before even speaking about a resolution of the bank and its very unlikely risk of a loss for the taxpayer," Sergio Ermotti said.

So there is no benefit other than peace of mind and there might be fees involved to transfer? It’s an interesting hill for them to die on. Are there any other stocks with a large amount of direct registration or is it only people worried about convoluted shadow finance bs
