That's stupid because it assumes that hashrate and difficulty are constant. If it's too expensive to mine then there will be less miner and difficulty will go down until we reach a price that is ensuring an income to miner, it's that simple.
Also remember that 51% attacks are a myth because the day it happens it will be obvious to anyone and the price of Bitcoin will go to 0. What the point of stealing something if the price goes to 0?
And if they still do it in order to destroy Bitcoin then the community can decide to do an exceptional hard fork, and the attacker will have wasted billions of dollars in a pointless attack.
