Investing is a marathon, not a single trade. You can only use money you can afford to lose, and if you're living pay to pay, then you're already out of the game. An average investment is going to yield 6-8% per year over time (though some years it could be up or down 20%).
If you're making trades trying to 4x your money, then you also have to take on enough risk that'll blow out 75% of your account, too. Risk management and psychology is the most important thing to do.
Even if you're not an active trader, putting 10% of your income into savings/investment no matter what is a big deal over time. And if you don't know what to buy, you can just get a low fee market etf like VOO and do like 80% that and 20% bonds

I was reading about Bill Gates the other day on Wikipedia, TerraPower has a nuclear technology that allows it to basically do passive/on demand power and avoids this problem somehow. It also enables in-situ plutonium enrichment in an embedded reactor, which avoids terrorism enrichment risk apparently.
