There is only so much you can do. This is akin to standing around a murder scene and watching the police officer toss the murder weapon into the river right in front of you. What can you do at that point when the regulatory authority and the criminal justice system is basically aiding and abetting this fraud. Now, they may be carefully constructing the delicate means to stop these shenanigans in such a way so as to not allow a collapse. But for right now the entire system is basically pretending this problem doesn't exist and there is little to nothing we can do in an immediate sense.
However, legally there are things that can be done that shorts can't stop which will cause them to get blown out such as a merger. I think something like that is going to unfold very very soon.
I don't think anyone has much faith in the system right now.
