Get an actual boomer account that submits returns by hand, not digitally, buy 2-3 of the popular crypto tax softwares and put in all of your on/off ramps (including your metamask, etc). Calculate how much you owe. Pick whatever number the crypto tax software spits out that looks right and then give it to your accountant. It's not that hard.

You are massively over complicating it and likely psyching yourself out. If you are making an honest effort to try and calculate your taxes and aren't hiding anything you won't get in trouble even if you are wrong. I have a co-worker that got a love letter from the IRS saying that he said he made X with crypto but according to the IRS records he actually made Y and that he now owes Y. So then he paid Y - which was like 1k more.

I’ve finally broken even. Bought the top of the last cycle and kept buying after to lower my average. After a certain point of continuing poor price action I decided enough was enough and I wasn’t ever putting more fiat in. I’ve held ever since and wrote it off in my mind, now that the price is recovered I still don’t feel anything. When BTC breaks its ATH again I will start selling tranches of LINK, I’m not being left holding the bag again. The euphoria of this board is also a bit of a sell signal desu
