Morty Herschelthief goes up to the poors and says, if you pay me back X plus interest next month you can buy X worth of stuff today. That essential scam underpins the entire operation.

I was chatting with a woman once who remarked, "I just accidentally paid three bills and now I don't have enough money for Christmas presents for the family." I asked, "How did you accidentally pay three bills? Don't you have to pay those off or your services get shut down?" She said it was actually three minimum payments toward a single credit card bill. She had only meant to pay one payment and had "screwed up," by paying three payments. It turns out there is a whole lifestyle based around making minimum payments and that's how credit card companies make a ton of their money.

Depends on the card, 2/3 of my CCs the cash back is available as soon as the transaction clears, the only is monthly
>2% doesn’t seem that exciting
I spend around $35k/y, that's $700 free bucks, why wouldn't I take it?

I pay my car maintenance, water heater repairs using a credit card. I don't see what the issue is as long as I have the money in my bank account to cover it.
