you could burn XRP to mint a shitty NFT doesn't mean that it has value. Hooks is only valuable if it can be implemented on main chain since XRP has limited composability due to it being fixed function and hooks on the mainnet will expand the gamut of functions , putting effort into developing XRP+ on a side chain for any reason other than acting as a testnet is shooting yourself in the foot. You might as well make something which is EVM compatable or WASM based for composability.
I share the negative sentiment towards the Evernode sidechain as well, they at least made it EVM compatable but I don't see it stealing much in the way of marketshare for XRP since the burn to mint bridge is only one way limiting liquidity flows.

Flare probably has the best chance of absorbing some of XRP's value since the bridge is two ways and you have lock up flare equivalent to the Value of XRP to mint it as an F-asset.
