What's your point?
It was a good flip, but every dollar made in the pump will be lost over the coming years as it returns to near zero. Most of the profits have already been lost.

So no, they were not wrong. It was and still is a terrible investment. A good investment in 2020 would've been oil stocks. Those were legitimately undervalued, bounced 10-20x and are STILL holding those gains and paying out massive dividends. That's what a good investment looks like.

The thing about a short squeeze is that, even if it succeeds and some shorts are forced to cover, at the end of the day you're still left with a minimum of 100% of the original shares outstanding, all of which are still just as worthless as they were preceding the squeeze.
...And I would even venture to bet more money was made selling naked calls to retards in the months following the squeeze, than was ever lost by shorts covering.

Honestly I do not think yield curves can predict crashes. However at the moment yields rising means borrowing is more expensive, and that will make the economy contract as there is less money (aka deflation). What we experienced post covid was an inflationary crash / recession, meaning there is more money in the system and line went up however things are just cost more. 2000. and 2008 were deflationary crashes for example.
But at the end of the day this is unironically the market healing and there will be heemings. but just staying the course and knowing that having 100% equity portfolio means you have to stomach 50% + downturns and not sell. If you want less risk now is a great time to start DCAing into fixed income.

Yield curves uninverting signal the pretty much immediate start of a recession. There's also a bad track record for the market after the Fed does its last hike in a cycle.
