Should I always contribute to my 401k if there's a match?

Do you think you can do better than doubling your money?

This is how I am thinking about it and I think I can with crypto. Everyone says I'm retarded though.

Bongoloid here
My employer contributes 12% for my 6% salary sacrifice, plus considering I'm not paying income tax on that, It works out I lose about £150 from my pay cheque each month, and get £670 in pension payments (bong version of 401k)

Seems like a no-brainer for me to do it

If you honestly think you can pull this off then go ahead and try, but I hope you learn your lesson sooner rather than later

we are on the cusp of the next bullrun and all you have to do is buy now and hold for a while, you act like this is super complicated

>thinks a pension is the same thing as a 401k

Literal retard.

Pensions are 100x better than shitty 401ks. 401ks are a fucking scam. When markets go down, 401ks go down A LOT and are also fee'd. When markets go up, 401ks go up an itty bit, and are fee'd.

Yes, you should get your 401k employer match, but nothing more, because after that 100% return from the match, you can with certainty do better self-managing, even if you throw all of it into a CD, you're going to beat the "returns" on a (scam) 401k.

Seriously FUCK 401ks...

Sure but know you can't take that money out until you're 60
