why do people use AAVE and other protocols that give you like 0.05% APY?

Architecture autist here, I can tell with a very high degree of certainty that that image was taken in the southern spanish autonomous community of Andalusia, if I had to get more specific I'd wager it was taken in the western half.

Given all the features seen in the image:
>dry yellow landscape
>presence of trees
>whitewashed walls
>red rooftiles
I was undecided between the western andalucian interior, southern extremadura and even some other places outside of spain like alentejo in portugal.
Took a guess with a 33% chance of getting it right and I did.

And yes I've never had sex or even kissed a woman, fuck I've never even hugged or held hands with one.

I ruled out southern portugal due to tiny differences in the red roof tiles themselves and southern extremadura due to the density of vegetation (the closer to the atlantic the more vegetation and the further away the more dry and "deserty"), this is one of those things that serves absolutely no purpose in one's life and never will but I find interesting

Lower rug/hack risks from the established, reputable protocols.

Great for parking money and forgetting about it without any worries.

When they have a better option they will move. I. would rather go for SpoolFi though. At least I won't be opened to much risk and I'll get higher rewards.

2023

>t-bills 5%

the simplest explanation is that they have illicit funds and cannot off-ramp, are the devs/founders, or are simply too stubborn

aave v3 dai deposits are at 3.3% rn
people deposit for stupid apy because they borrow against their deposits
remember aave is a lending platform first and foremost
u can short and long using the platforms but a lot of noobs also use it as a savings accnt
if u didnt know this maybe reconsider being in crypto

AAVE allows you to borrow against your deposit and short the market. You can do some pretty sophisticated trades in a purely decentralized and trustless manner using Defi. That's what makes it cool.

Anon, a grande maioria do Alentejo (tudo excepto o alentejo litoral) sempre foi um "deserto" com sobreiros e azinheiras.
O montado alentejano não foi uma criação espanhola lol.

So ppl can borrow or lend in decentralized manner, like whole point of this defi shit, its not fucking savings account.

Ppl can long or short shit whiteout goy cexes, also you can be liquid in $ and keep price exposure to asset.

Last week I had real life emergency and needed 50k$ and hate idea of selling my ETH at 1600, so instead of selling 32 ETH I supplied 64ETH and borrowed 50k$ with health factor around 2.
Now if eth drops to 800$ I will be liquidated and lose 10-20% more, but at those low prices idgf and prob buying more, but if it runs to 10k ill still be able to get my 64 ETH back at 1600$ price +3% ytd interest.
Not to mention you allays can pay back part of debt from collateral etc
All this whiteout bank or cex in 2 clicks, this shit+uniswap is allays taken for granted but it trully feals like magic
tf using AAVE since 2020 (never held token DESU)

Because with SpoolFi i can create a risk mitigated strategies hat would then route my assets across AAVE and other protocols like CRV.
