Before I go on, I want to say that ICP has really cool tech in the crypto world. Its community is amazing for sticking around even when its value dropped for two years. For example, the Dragginz project is one of the coolest web3 games I've seen.

But now, ICP is facing a big challenge. It might not be able to bounce back.

Right now, the Internet Computer is run by 66 main groups, but there are 92 in total. Since October 2021, these groups have been getting rewards between $1.5M and $3M every month. Dfinity gives these rewards with new ICP coins. If the ICP price drops, they have to give out more coins.

Here's the problem: Dfinity promises a certain dollar amount to these groups every month. If the ICP price drops, they give more coins.

With the price now at $2.9 for one ICP, about 20% of the new coins each month come from these rewards. If the price drops more, they'll have to give out even more coins.

People think if the price goes down to $1 for one ICP, almost all the new coins would come from these rewards. This could be really bad for ICP, kind of like what happened with Terra Luna.

Imagine how cheep it will be for developers. Why do you love ICP? Did you think you would just buy it and make money for simply owning it? Doesn't the parasite already do this with its shit coins? How much of a paradigm shift would it be, if we continued to reward the lazy. Learn to code. This is not a token for the dead, but a token for the living.

I don't hold ICP but i hold dragginz that's why i love it , ICP could fall to $1 and this won't affect the project though.

Grab every opportunity to FUD ICP like clockwork, then pretending to be part of the community like the salty niggers from icpchads.
You don't hold ICP, if you did, you would know about know proposal 64141

A maximum of 100k per node and there are 66 active nodes. The thing you linked doesn't become relevant until about 0.37c ICP which is 12x what it is worth.

Why did they do this? Sounds insanely unsustainable.
