I'd say that it was around the time of my first job interview. It was one of those jobs when I was in school. A convenience store that my friend looked at was looking for a janitor. I made it to the phone interview. The interviewer was supposed to call me at a specific time to conduct the interview. I waited by the phone. I waited for a while. About an hour. Because she said she would call me. Then I gave up on it. Went out for a bike ride. Later I asked my parents if the phone had gotten a call.

Later on I talked to my friend who worked there. He said that I was supposed to call immediately when I didn't get a call. See, the manager, she wanted to see how badly I wanted a job. I smiled and told him that I didn't play those kinds of games. You either hire me straight for a job or you don't hire me at all. The minute you start playing silly little games like that is the moment that I won't work for you.

I consider myself a leader because I've stuck by that principle my entire life.
