Btw if you put a big damn rock or something up right next to the fire, any smoke will go towards that rock and upwards instead of directly towards you or your frens. If you have a favorite place you can also set branches up against the trees kind of parallel and it will dry them out. Removing bark when chopping wood and storing firewood to make sure it remains dry at an angle will all drastically decrease smoke in you and your guests' face.
