Yea, when they first gave me NAC I googled it and saw some sketchy looking side effects and didn't take it at first. I continued to develop a worsening cough and wet lung until I eventuallt decided it wouldn't kill me to just take one. After I took it, it was like my lungs instantly recovered. I still had a residual cough for a couple months, likely because I waited too long to take the medication.

Iirc, the biggest and most worrisome side effect was that it could lead to the development of tumors. Again, not a doctor, but using it one off should probably be fine. I'm still healthy after taking it. Get well soon anon
