theoritically, you use it to pay fees when you make an oracle call to get some data in your smart contract. Like the price of AAPL every 10 minutes.

practically, there is such a lack of data stream, use cases, purposes for oracles, that it's pathetic. That's why Chainlink as a network of oracles is barely used today and nothing really changed in 3 years of development even with unlimited funding.
