How much money do I need to move out of my parents' home?
What expenses do I need to take into account?

>> No.55804360

Dude, living outside is free. It costs $0. You have no excuses.

Are you trying to get an apartment for yourself?

Account for

>Application fees
>Processing fees
>Deposit
>First months rent
>Whatever tacked on amenity fees the bullshit apartment cooks up

Then after that all you really need is

>Rent
>Electric
>Water
>Internet
>Food

All this is variable but this should be the baseline of what you should account for. I say I probably spent about $2k to move out my parents home.

Holy fuck its over. My last job paid me the equivalent of $15.6k a year. How the fuck will I ever move out? And I'm unemployed at the moment. I might have to find a roommate

Yeah dude if you’re making 15k a year you’re going to have to grind out at your parents place and find a higher paying job unless you live in bumfuck nowhere. You’re on 4chan now so why not study IT if you’re a computer nerd? Entry level helpdesk jobs pay ok. My advice is don’t be so eager to move out even if your parents are annoying. You’re in a perfect position to level up

This. They even sell 200W tent air conditioners now. With $1k of equipment you could have air conditioning and power.

I needed $6k (CoL was $2k/month) to do it in 2020 but I got $4k of that back when I moved somewhere else.

This. I regret moving out. I could be retired by now if I had stayed and saved all the money I spent on rent.

look up how much rent is in the area you want to live. it's approx $1500-$3000 in many major US cities. there will also be a down payment requirement (first and last month's rent, and deposit), just to move in. or if you think you will get lucky then search craigslist, might be able to find a single room or share a room and it will be less than sites like Zillow.

Making people move out of their parent's fully paid-off house is a scam.
Rent is the biggest factor, but you also need to buy household appliances like a washing machine and such and can't leverage scale effects (e.g. sharing internet connection, heating costs, netflix and such with your parents is cheaper that paying it individually).
