I work in a paper mill and it pays great but the work is absolutely insane and we have lost green horn after green horn cause they just can't do the work. They're extremely dangerous too.

I do do that though. The most dangerous part of working on a paper board machine is threading paper where you have to use an air line to thread paper (or your hands) between two perpendicular rollers moving 1500 rpms. Will literally kill you if you fuck up once. Or you can fall in the pulper....scary shit.

It's not something people can just "do." They do pay well but like I said most people these days just can't do it. Especially with the heat. Certain parts of the paper machine can be as hot as 400 degrees coupled with the extreme heat we have been experiencing. Like Isaid we lost so many people this year. People went to the hospital. We just had a guy today go to first aid because he succumb to heat sickness. I haven't even mentioned the other hard labor that is required of new people. It gets easier when you move up and I won't lie I work in the lab now but it's not something people can just do and the same applies to other jobs like this.
