SPX is down 0.15%
These are irrelevant moves.
Look at the dollar move last Thursday, up 1% in 2 hours. That will likely have some immediate effect. But overall the dollar is more of a general consideration to take note of. Don't look for a 1 to 1 correlation. Even commodities, which are priced in dollars, sometimes move with the dollar instead of opposite it.

I am shorting WING. I think WING is overvalued but the company is putting up a good fucking fight by vertically integrating their bone-in chicken supply chain and thus protecting their company from COGS volatility. This is honestly really impressive from WING and it hurts me because my main thesis was that their COGS would go up since chicken wings are at a literal bottom in terms of spot price..
But now they're insulated from chicken wing spot price.

We crashed last Thursday because the yen spiked on YCC rumors, if I recall.
So there was an afternoon event that was bearish for the dollar (relative to yen), and then stocks crashed.
Up until that moment, the entire morning session was stocks up ~0.8% and DXY up similarly. There were slight fluctuations of course, as always. Strange.

I'm not surprised that rising oil is potentially bullish for DXY given that DXY is primarily weighted as dollar vs euro, and the largest physical US export is petroleum.

What exactly do you think TLT is?
TLT is an income generating ETF which holds [whatever they write in their prospectus] and thus it's price of share needs to adjust so its [the sum of their 12 most recently paid out dividends] divided by its current price of share results in a "calculated yield" comparatively to what [whatever they write in their prospectus] yields right now.

Nobody and I mean nobody cares about BoE. They have given up on fighting the inflation as they refrained from hiking by 50bps. Rather, they hiked mere 25 bps... Several European countries have a core inflation of fuckin 8% and they honestly think these pathetic hikes are gonna do something.
But it is understandable. Eurocucks are too tied to short-term mortgages so they will get severely fugged later this year as those loans get re-financed. They can't raise too much and too aggressively since that would completely kill the economy.

Yeah, it was a busy day. But I distinctly remember one retard spouting shit about green DXY == bearish all morning to no effect, as if that was the only thing that matters.
Then BoJ rumors came in and he couldn't accept that something else could possibly be responsible for the move he'd so brilliantly predicted. In fact, DXY declined a bit that afternoon due to the 12% yen weighting. Strange.

What the fuck have you done? Tell your advisor to cash out and miss half the rally?

The decline obviously aligned with the US market open, not the premarket ECB news. Note that bounce right before 9:30 that goes against your own read on that data. Note the massive DXY move relative to a small impact in SPX
This sort of market hours fade is typical of late stage bull rallies, as buyers need fresh hype just to keep bidding shit up.

Obviously DXY has some correlations some of the time, but it's mostly due to other factors. DXY is not a leading indicator, nor is it a perfect indicator in these situations you're applying it. There are some moves that are directly tied to dollar strength, weakness and liquidity, but as it stands DXY has largely been a non-factor in this later stage of the bull run.

DXY essentially bottomed in the end of January. SPX is up ~12% since then.
You can dispute this, but you'd be retarded to do so. Just read the chart.

Only the first move from 3600 to 4100 was caused by increasing dollar liquidity as those initial rate hikes were digested and the pace slowed.
More than half the scope of the move higher has occurred since that point. There are other factors at play. The fact is that 5% rates in perpetuity along with 5% inflation will provide a expected 5% annual boost to the markets independent of everything, because stocks represent businesses that earn money based on the dollars present and available in the economy.
For a great example of this, check out Merval as measured in argentine pesos.

>bunch of fees
ETFs have one fee: the expense ratio

>simply buy Apple and get +300% every 5 years
You can weight your port heavily to one stock like Apple if you believe that, but if you're wrong, your capital is fucked

>Just buy Mega Tech and you are set for life
This is actually why a lot of people buy QQQ, XLK, etc. They want many megatech companies, but the price of buying them separately is too costly per share (and costs more in taxes). ETFs offer an easy, lower priced, one price solution to owning a sector or some wacky thematic shit

lmao. The quantity of posters is irrelevant because it's one singular idea up for debate, the importance of DXY. I don't care how many are on your side, whether real or puppets. You are all wrong.

That image you've misapplied was designed for the type of people who spam "samefag" as their only argument, particularly in discussions that are entirely opinion based. We're debating facts here, and those facts have been laid out bare.
Not my problem if you choose to ignore the inconvenient ones. We're done here.

You are so retarded. It is unbelievable.
If economic activity falls greater than the increase in prices, it's net negative anon.
In other simpler words:
>if I sell 100 units at $100
vs
>I sell 80 units at $105
which gives you more money?
>what is elasticity of demand
>how do interest rates affect demand
gee - whiz, I wonder

>We're done here.
Lmao.
You brought up this discussion for the umpteenth time, I showed you >>55742598 that you're wrong, I showed you that you're schizophrenic >>55742584
>Then BoJ rumors came in and he couldn't accept that something else could possibly be responsible for the move
>>55742628
You refuted none of this. You had no argument. You then jumped topics to >>55742886
>yeah well DXY is responsible for half of the gain, but that doesn't make it responsible!
you're talking out of both sides of your mouth, anon.
>Just read the chart.
YOU read the chart

Now we are done here, until you inevitably bring it up again, as you are butthurt, so assblasted, that not only myself, but other anons disagree with you. We will live rent free in your head for probably the next year. I don't see you not bringing this up again for literally years.
I will not bring it up again - let's see who brings it up again first

Hey, you know what, I shouldn't have called you a retard for making that statement, it's too easy to let the culture of this shithole flow freely. You're not "wrong" there, but as I often state, be sure to keep plenty of free liquidity for averaging down. I apologize for calling you a retard in that particular context though. You're still a nigger though. Verification not required.
