It's happening to me as well. Lost my job about 2 months ago and I'm just repulsed by the idea of working for peanuts.
I am trained in a somewhat skilled occupation with plenty of health hazards, and I'm paid about the same or less than a cashier.
I can afford to spend a bunch of months unemployed because I share the place I live in, but no matter how hard I worked I won't be able to live completely alone.
