Fellow breeder here, you won’t regret getting the van, we only had a Corolla with 2 kiddos and it was awful lugging a stroller around now with 3 the van is getting full again. Seating is going to max out at 4 if have to take a trip. Hope to trade in for one of those giant Mercedes vans at 5. Will sell a few ounces of gold if I have to! I politely disagree. If you're indebted to a bank for payments, you're not thinking in the same way a free man does. A free man has a different view of the world. A slave has an incentive to keep a corrupt system propped up and in place to avoid his own destruction due to not really owning the things he tricks himself into thinking he owns. A free man knows that a note on a car, house, or property means it's not theirs until it's paid off.

Hey guys, serious question -- who am I supposed to sell all my silver to when squeeze?

Started stacking 2 years ago -- I am a futures trader and began buying silver/gold as an insurance policy rather than an inveestment, but then my FIL did some talking and I fell down the rabbit hole, so here I am trading my fake paper money into real money lol.

In the last 2 years I have bought from people on discord and some people on marketplace, the thought of paying tax for this and shipping fees makes me say FUCK that. Did some selling too to some local old head who works at walmart, but he is not enough liquidity for me to offload my entire bags when the squeeze happens.

So where are you guys gonna sell or what are you gonna do if liquidity is an issue?

Nice try, I’m just trying to save him paperwork and undue scrutiny.

He could sell under the 10k amount over a 10 year period for all I care. Never said “don’t do your taxes fren”. Selling bullion isn’t illegal, and neither is structuring your sales to avoid government paperwork. I’d say the same thing about depositing cash.

I've sold on eBay occasionally with no problems and without having to wait long to get the "Buy-It-Now" price I'm asking (to make sure that after fees I'm still pocketing over spot). There is also a pretty cool LCS/pawn/trading post shop that pays surprisingly well, I called them and when Silver was at $23.18 they were paying $24.25/oz in cash for generic silvertowne 10oz bars, more than $1/oz over. I thought that was awesome and sold a few so I could go buy a bunch of valuable stuff from a cash-only estate sale to flip. Liquidating physical assets will never be as streamlined and simple as clicking your mouse and cashing out of your digital/paper options, but in my experience as an antique/collectible picker and flipper things like silver and gold are about as liquid as tangible assets get.

How do I avoid paying taxes and getting the IRS involved when selling silver in the US? From what I understand, as long as I sell in increments less than $10k, it does not get reported to the IRS? So if I needed 50k, I would just do multiple sales, all under 10k, and be good? Or do I have this wrong? I'd be selling to big dealers like APMEX, JM, SD, etc., since it's bulk and I only need spot at this point (I am only selling my generic bullion, but really making any profit since I DCA every month, I use metals as my bank, profit is not the point for me).

If you're not making profit, you have to prove it - come with your receipts to show how much you paid. Subtract that from what the dealer pays you. The difference is what you would owe taxes on fro capital gains.
If you are receiving more than $10k in cash, it is incumbent upon the store to report the transaction, because the gov't wants to know what's going on with its fiat. You don't do that. It is also more likely that the store will give you a check. That would be the smart way to do it.

I did some rough math and with my DCA between 17 and 26, selling around 22-23 will give me minimal to 0 capital gains, so if they even audit me I'll either pay nothing or very little. I'm just saying this as a kindly, non-FUD fren who has gone through his precious metals phase - until you are wealthy enough to not have to actually worry about monthly finances, invest your money in standard strategic market practices and try to actually return an income on it. We're getting the shit kicked out of ourselves from inflation and I'm really tired of the cope my family keeps pumping into eachother about 'WHEN DA WORL ENDS WE GON HAVE MUNNY TO BARTER WIT'.

If the world literally does end, nobody will barter with fucking bullion. Money will stop mattering. Make your money work for you and try to turn a profit on it. If you are poor, you will not get rich from precious metals.

The valuable and rare material that we expend ungodly amounts of energy and manpower will be capital that will allow you to buy back into whatever system comes to replace what we have now. Forget the hyperbole about bartering, the reality is really quite simple. The number of claims to wealth far exceed actual wealth and capital by a large margin. The U.S. bond market is twice the size of the U.S. GDP. This impossible scenario will manifest itself as higher prices as things become more scarce. This is why you buy valuable materials is so you can escape the "claims" and own the "commodity".

The financial and economic woes we have are a function of real-world scarcity. Although I do have some crypto, I don't see how adjusting the unit of account will solve the problem of scarcity. As JPMorgan said, gold is money and everything else is credit. This is a profound statement that alludes to the fact that every other store of value we have is a function of bank credit. You trust that your broker has your shares and you trust that someone else will buy them from you at an inflated cost when we all know everything is already leveraged up to the gills.
I don't think anyone is going to be wanting or trusting crypto because it will be just another asset of intangible value that people will be liquidating to buy essentials. And any purchasing power that survives a crash will be transferred out of crypto and into blue-chips and PMs. Money will be changing hands as the market looks for a solution and the ultimate winner will be thus: QUALITY.
Superfluous businesses, investments, marginal investors in real estate will all be liquidated.

Lithium and cobalt are better analogs for tangible assets at this point, gold and silver don't have a practical value to the average person besides niggers loving they jurlry. Norway has released a few commemorative silver coins over the years. The top right one and the rest with the lion are the same type of coin. 10 kroner from 1964, 20g 90% silver. You can usually get them from facebook groups/norwegian eBay for spot or under spot. Even some dealers sell them for spot.
The PM market in norway is abit fucked. You can also quite easily find gold regularly for 90-95% of spot if you buy it on FB groups.
A little tip for fellow norwegian stackers: Dont buy silver rounds/medals. Dealers dont buy them back for anything close to spot, and theyre hard to sell privately aswell. I had to sell mine to a Polish guy who refines them in Poland. .999 goverment bullion is easily the best type of silver to stack, along with junk. Only buy rounds/medals if you get them 20% or more under spot.

Bros I waited on the phone with my bank for FORTY minutes just to see if they would answer the phone. No dial menus, nothing. Except once in a while, they stated some money trivia. One is that the facilities that print our money use 18 thousand pounds of ink every day. The other was that the rights to print currency were extended for collectible coins to be issued and fundraise for infrastructure and buildings, and through special minted coins, the government has raised over 500 million. What to make of this?

I personally wouldn't because in a theoretical collapse, people will be using weight scales and XRF thermo machines. Another factor is that people will trust coins more than random pieces of coins, plus the 22k versions are designed for circulation. It's because of these points that the full sovereign is so popular. At 22mm and a quarter ounce of gold, it's simply one of the best to use in fiat fucked world. However it's hard to stay the course when all of the normies cast aspersions, even more so as I've been trying to go out more and meet more people. That's the boring ones (not even picrel) and not enough. I wanted to buy big(ger). The guy I wanted to buy from still had 60 2 days ago. Now they're gone. I hope he still has more and just not listed on ebay.

Convince me. Why isn't the dollar going to experience a 25ish percent correction?

>> No.55421031

>>55420966
Because the "correction" will be ten times 25%. There are only two exits from the burning Fun House: massive inflation or massive debt default. Massive inflation keeps the party going longer for those who profit, so I am betting on that one.

>us bonds do shit
>us companies that got propped up in 2008/09 with bonds start to lose value
>companies increase prices of their goods
I might be wrong about the bond stuff, but if not we're gonna have both deflation and price increases. So a slow boil to a great depression.

I'm not interested in buying individual coins. I buy dozens at a time. I have literally hundreds of Reichsmarks. I have been stacking nothing but Reichsmarks for quite a while. Why wouldn't I when they're cheap, readily available and based? Sadly, the first two are becoming less true as time goes on. Other Jews are stealing them from me. Fuck.

Japan is interesting. They are dramatically increasing defense spending and that means USD in the pockets of US defense contractors. That is probably the only way Japan can unload its USD holdings with Washington approval. If I were Japan that is how I would do it. Get the Defense lobby working on your side in Congress. Unload those dollars.
