I've never used credit but I'm considering maxxing out some cards and fucking off for a while.
Is it based or a recipe for disaster?

Did he start the meme or hijack it? I recall first seeing it in 2021 around here.

It's a meme. People with the financial sense to pull off that scheme are infinitely better off just accumulating money like a normal person. It's incredibly common for memes to spread in personal finance, like that myth about building multiple streams of income to get rich, when in reality most people get rich off of a single successful source they've fixated on. On /biz/ it's particularly bad because everyone has an /r/antiwork-tier attitude of wanting shit handed to them but they're also 4chan NEET's with no life experience and chronic contrarianism; so you have broke people with no credit unironically telling you to debtmax because they don't know better. Of those who supposedly did debtmax, I have no reason to believe they did it intentionally. They're probably retards who built up a bunch of debt and then convinced themselves they were "debtmaxing" to compensate their ego for being bad with money.

This is really key to point out. If you're good with money, you'll build up enough money that you won't want to lose it all in bankruptcy. The best debt-maxer swindles some money and watches his net worth go down as he spends it, while even a wagie can see his net worth go up every payday.

Well I'll put it like this dude. Yes you're right these companies are scum but you ARE stealing. Call it something else if you wish but if you're going to steal money through one scheme or another, it had better be enough to get your own private island or at least disappear permanently and have a good plan.

>Tldr it's basically a meme with credit cards but it could potentially work with large lines of credit but I'd tell you as a rational, sane first world human to just make money some other way.

Cya nigga gl
