I've tried starting a business.
Businesses are literally all fake money laundering scams.

Nobody buys anything today. They won't even spend $8 anymore on something.

Starting a business is a scam.
It's all niggers who want shit for free, on the cheap, try to con you in various ways, want you to worship the ground they walk on, or run your name through the dirt for the most minor inconvenience.

Also I want to get into selling alcohol that I make myself and bottle, but I don't know how I would do that online.

If you the Etsy route, also start your own website. If you want any sort of visibility on Etsy, be prepared to lose about 40% of your sales in them nickel-and-diming you. Set your Etsy shop up in a way that makes it more appealing to go through your website instead (limited/selective services versus full range of services through your site).

Etsy is a good place to be able to route customers to your own website, but it's a terrible basket to throw all of your eggs into.

If you have your own site, then start an etsy shop, and probably an ebay store. Just develop them in a way that makes it more appealing to go through your site so you can pay less in fees, without actually violating their fee-avoidance policies.

Sounds like a sort of niche thing, so you won't likely go brick and mortar, but even with e-comm you need to go to where your customers are. If your marketing strategy is to spend a couple of dollars on message board ads, you're just not going to see the kind of conversions you're hoping for

How many people are already doing what you are doing? (These people are your compilation and if they have been doing it longer then they have already built up a customer base that is less inclined to look elsewhere).
You are complaining about this being unfair, sure feel however you have to feel, but you are pitching to a tiny market with lots of competitors.
If you want to succeed then you are in for the long grind to gain recognition and reputation, especially with anything in the art world. It is what it is dude, either keep pushing forward and eating shit till you get somewhere, or ease off, relax and just work a job.

Businesses can be profitable, but with the following conditions:
> Thou shalt need marketing skills, PERIOD.
> Thou shalt NOT fall for the following meme business models parroted on YouTube: Dropshipping, Print on Demand, Affiliate Marketing, Social Media Marketing Agency, "Digital Real Estate bro", Ebay, Amazon FBA, "muh amazon killers like bonanza, mercari, etc."

I've also tried a few businesses and failed each of them - all of them because I fell for a meme business model + didn't know jackshit about marketing.

Also, your marketing budget needs to be massive + you need long term planning (at least 1-2 years) before turning a profit. You'll be losing a lot of money before then, you just need to hang in there with a soul crushing 9 to 5 until you start turning livable profits with your side business.

Remember what I said about marketing budget.

One reason is because EVERYONE and their dog wants to (and probably already has) run a side business because YouTube + tiktok told them to do so while they were locked away at home during the pandemic.

In order to beat those schmucks, your marketing budget needs to be massive to drown them out. Not only that, but your marketing skills need to be ON POINT to stand above the extreme saturation online.

Before any of you counter me with, "but if it's a side business like trades bro, who cares about those onlinepreneurs bro?" - understand that you still need beastly online marketing skills to succeed with a service based business in the trades. It's simply the cruel reality of today's labor world. You need to live and breathe social media to succeed.

Now, back to your issue. You also made a website without a single purchase - I also suffered this same fate with one of my businesses. The problem is that you aren't driving much traffic to your website to begin with (an issue with lack of advertising/marketing skills) and as with any ecommerce thing, conversion rates are always going to be low no matter how good the product + marketing. Hell, even a 5-10% conversion rate is quite good.

Ecommerce is brutal, even more so these days thanks to the pandemic.

I’m an accountant, I’ve worked in practices. So I’ve seen behind the scenes on a ridiculous amount of business, I’m telling you that what you are experiencing is about standard especially when you are starting out. If you want to make your business into something valuable you are almost certainly going to have to eat a stupid amount of shit before it ever even shows promise of paying off.
I’ve seen people that run small art businesses limp along for years before ever seeing a profit.
If you aren’t starting a business because it is some inalienable drive within you to build and own something of your own then I can honestly say just get a job, work reasonably hard, invest some of your earnings and have a chill life.
There is no hate from me dude, I’m just speaking from what I know to be true in most cases.
(On a side note, I’d say follow the beer/alcohol path if you have any skill with it. It’s a much easier sell, start at small markets and only move online as people start to recognise your branding).

And for the record, I and probably many other anons have had the same idea before since we all grew up seeing loose cartridges and those Gamestop generic label boxes and thinking how shitty they are and wishing there was a way to supplement case-less games, but at the end of the day I don't care quite enough. This is 100% a niche idea anon. One that could possibly be successful, but your passion for it is clouding any rational judgment you could have about this topic.

Most gamers don't give a fuck about cases, let alone custom ones, but there are some people out there that do care about their collections, and you have to market to them. Your customer base is not going to be the average gamer/consumer.

You are starting off targeting a small percentage of the gamer demographic that would care about such a product, but your position is that the general consumer is the problem?

I started doing furry porn but nobody bought my art because i didn't quite enjoy what i was doing and it showed in my artworks. Then, one day i found out about crypto giveaways and started farming them. You wouldn't believe the amount of money you can make with these things, meme competitions, thread competitions, they usually give you like 50 usd but if you make a lot then you could be making almost 1k per day, it's insane.
