They're a neat piece of history for sure and gold's gold, but they're too coppery for me and their (really cool!) imagery is too detailed for their shitty press quality.
If the high premium keeps rising, why not, but personally, I'd go for lower premium options. The 2 Rand is about as edgy, roughly the same size and more golden.

Well, first of all, I'm stacking €uros, not filthy dollars and second, while you might be right, it won't simply happen over night, you waking up one morning and everyone just switched over to precious metals.

It's also important to remember that America hasn't been around for even 400 years and is uniquely isolated from most other powers with a literal hegemony over their continent for most of its history = no real rivals it shares a land border with. Not sure if trolling/fudding. Yes, if you buy silver you might get a haircut when selling to a LCS but with gold you pay a 1% premium and that's only *if* you ever have to sell. If you don't you in end up with more metals. There's also a bit of volatility in the gold price but usually that will mean it going up so even with the 1% premium so you're likely going to end up with more paper than before. So in the end stacking paper is totally worthless. Maybe a super urgent emergency fund of a few hundred dollars for whatever. But other than that you're better off buying gold.
