I got a GED, made money and lost money in crypto. Got around 45k left in crypto. No current job prospects, no technical certifications/degree. I am thinking of trying to join the military, specifically space force. Would this be a stupid financial decision? I feel if I could join for 4 years and get out after that it would help me find some direction in life and make it easier to land jobs after. Is this stupid?

if the space force is anything like the air force, then a GED ain't going to cut it

Its unironically over. Get a degree or just join the army and hope for the best, though at 27, youre not gonna make it far or make it at all.

i don't think you'll get in with a ged but you need to talk to a recruiter. honestly any branch would be good for you. just make sure you are trading based on the overall trend, its buying time now and in 2025, its selling time. dca in and out accordingly. don't try and time it.

What is with this gay astroturfing?
Do you honestly think this is business and finance related at all? Do you really think any anon is willing, or even capable, of joining the military?
This is not to say anons can't shoot a gun or are physically incapable. Only that they will never submit themselves to the authority of a fucking drill sergeant.

Youd be surprised. Couldn't stand my boss but when I was screamed at by some drill sergeant somehow I was able to shut off my brain and ego and just do it.

Because the alternative was prison.

Not that hard to stand if you know what you're getting into. I'm not a shill I am just tired of my life, I've done a lot of different escapism life choices and I want to go another direction now.

Doesn't America have open universities, that'll accept anyone that can count up to 10?
If you're interested in accounting, study a degree in accounting at those open universities, work and get your CPA.

why would you want to become a glowie?

The military is pretty shitty but finances are not really one of them. To be clear, the pay is not particularly good objectively but it is good relative to the alternatives. Most enlisted would be flipping patties or stocking shelves and most commissioned officers would be doing data entry. The benefits are really as good as it gets in this country as well. The space force seems retarded though, almost as retarded as the marine corps. I’d go for Air Force, coast guard, navy, or army personally. I would be very careful about the job I chose and I would make absolutely certain to use that GI bill for a good degree.

You didn't play smart enough and that's why you're still larping around Biz. Simple DeFi is tough you'll on Biz why? Everyday you keep complaining. Did you have backup strategy of keeping stables Vaults like that of SpoolFi in case of black swan event. Did you consider fundamentals first. If NO, then you will continue to fail until you learn to cope.

I know enough to understand that the good jobs are in the Air Force, Coast Guard, Navy, and Army. There is a military enlistment general in /k/ that you can ask for advice. They’ll tell you straight up if the Space Force is worth joining.
