irrelevant. every cryptocurrency becomes expensive to use once it gains adoption. if your chain of choice is still cheap it's because not enough people are using it or it's centralized. ethereum and its side chains definitely have not solved the cost/scaling issue.

BTC's advantage is that it's the first, and biggest, the most secure. It also doesn't have a foundation burning through cash. And it's definitely not a security.

BTC, ETH are just alpha stage blockchain software that's nearly 14 years old and has several glaring flaws.

This next pump will be the last for bitcoin and eth and it will all be liquidated because the market, developers, use case in general has been generalized as one word. "Scam".

I believe blockchain software has a usecase however, this generation of software development and developer intentions are merely an alpha state, an experiment.
