When you pay for parsiq services with fiat, it gets used to buy the PRQ token.So whether you're using PRQ directly or not, the token is used.

It's been a long time since I delved into this project, but if I remember correctly it works like this: When a client uses parsiq services with fiat, the company uses that fiat to borrow PRQ from the IQ protocol (a lending protocol developed by parsiq) to benefit the lenders.
To put it in simple terms: whenever a client uses parsiq services, the people staking PRQ get a small %.
It's a great team with nonstop development but for some reason it hasn't popped off yet. IQ protocol is interesting to delve into on itself aswell.

What the other Anon said. Your fiat/usdc is converted in the background. About 47 million PRQ is currently staked. The next round of tokenomics updates are being released in batches beginning in Q3 (and include a new burn mechanism for the self-hosted/decentralised version of Parsiq approaching release.)
